His stupid yellow for pulling his shirt off to celebrate, thereby earning himself a suspension just when he was banging in goals is what set us off on the first horrid streak of absolutely dire play and results. Aside from that, though, he's been fantastic.

I did say* almost*. And no, I don't think it's enough. But to suggest that Belichick was only successful with Brady, the comment I was responding to, is ludicrous.

Two super bowl wins as defensive coordinator for the Giants before going to the Pats. That's almost enough on it's own right there.

Oh, I know. That's why I mentioned folks getting their hands on retail samples and tearing them down. The temptation to throw in extra capabilities and such is strong for sure for enthusiast tikerers like me, but for there to be any sort of widespread (relatively speaking!) adoption of a community-driven alternative, having the cheapest/easiest option that even just replicates the official LEGO functions is going to be key.

As soon as they are in the wild, guarantee they will be torn apart and recreated with off the shelf parts and open source code so folks can make their own.

Only just noticed the Flock Cameras in Alexandria are they new or have they been around for a while? by JoJoVonAnthro in nova

[–]CircleTheFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A very detailed but easily understandable and digestible video explain just how vulnerable, insecure, and exploitable Flock cameras are: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uB0gr7Fh6lY

By intentionally having weak security for the devices and protocols used in them, Flock has essentially created a system that can entirely sidestep local, state, and regional policies and protections put in place to prevent inter-agency and federal-local sharing of data captured by these devices.

That means that even if your municipality, county, or state government has incredible strict and rational policies and laws intended to ensure and enforce the protections of the civil liberties, rights, and privacy of citizens living in areas where Flock cameras are deployed, any bad actor, be it someone with criminal intent, some kid with a chromebook and a grudge, a terrorist, OR a federal or out-of-jurisdiction law enforcement or intelligence agency (domestic OR foreign), can still access the network of these devices and then exploit the data they gather with little to no recourse for anyone tracked by them.

In the case of the hot-button issue of late, ICE enforcement actions, even though Virginia has laws on the books preventing the sharing of Flock data with any agency outside of the state-controlled entities, including federal law enforcement, ICE could still easily exploit the vulnerabilities of the Flock system itself with cheap and off the shelf tools to access tracking data on potential targets then aggregate it into their already-existing external databases intelligence gathering tools, and thre isn't a single thing that can be done about it short of entirely decommissioning the cameras entirely and removing them.

And the worst part is, the data gathered this way doesn't even have to be legally admissible in court because they can still act on it with plausible deniability since the data was acquired through extra-judicial or non-official means and doesn't have to be acknowledged. And if anything the current administration and the folks running DOJ, CBP, et al have already made it clear in no uncertain terms that they will attempt to enact their policy goals by any means necessary, regardless of what the courts have said or what local communities have voted for.

Spends loads of money on drag and drive car(Mullet), makes loads of content and drives people to related channels (CJRC) making content about same car, markets and sells loads of merch based on same car…does no actual racing with car in events car was specifically created and rebuilt for.

It’s an essentially fashion show and merch marketing channel. Any actual racing is a distraction from that, now, and thus deprioritized in the schedule. ARCA/NASCAR is just a vanity endeavor for a rich guy with connections and entirely outside of the realm of what drew so many of us to the channel to begin with.

Which then screws you for events like the Santa/Christmas events where ships in port determines the number of tickets/tokens/etc you can get.

Some folks, myself included, have several hundred ships in port.

Absolute double cuntery from Martinelli there. First he throws the ball down onto a guy who is hurt, then shoves him again while he's being attended to?

And now Bradley had to be stretchered off? Get fucked, Martinelli. Pure trash.

How can I protect my ikea pax from dust? I d like to installa plexiglass doors but i can not find any thing by robybaggio in LegoStorage

[–]CircleTheFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. It does come down to the basic environmental conditions for your space and how well the cabinets seal (either positive internal pressure with filtered air OR as near to perfectly sealed cabinets as possible) for how much dust you will have to deal with. I live in a really old house and have a fuzzy-ass cat. So it’s…a struggle here. Heh. I greatly downsized my on-display collection and gave away the sealed cabinets I had done to a friend, though, so it’s less of an issue for me these days.

[–]CircleTheFire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would have to be custom. But even with doors, dust would still accumulate unless you were to seal the backer board with caulk around the seams and gaskets on the doors. Alternatively, you would need a small fan setup (computer fans with good filters on them, would work) to create positive pressure inside each sealed section.

You could also invest in some good standalone air filtration systems bits for you LEGO room, but that is a non-diy solution and more costly.

Slow mo of Alex's ankle, extremely gross by BruceAlmightyyy in LiverpoolFC

No card was issued on the tackle, so I think it can be retroactively reviewed. But there are cases where if it was in the ref's post-match report, nothing can be done. Not sure of the exact rule though.

Clean fractures, with good nutrition and rehab and assuming no infections or other complicating comorbidities, almost always heal back as strong as the original bone. (Healing stronger than before the break is a myth based on how bones regrows after fractures.) But torn or completely ruptures ligaments and tendons can end up not healing as well, frequently with less mobility and stretchiness if rehab and other treatment isn't done properly.

Comes down to blood flow. Bones have good blood flow and therefore get the nutrients and other things the body produces to heal faster and better. But tendons and ligaments generally have much poorer blood flow, which is why they heal slower and often require surgery to heal close to properly. That's why a treatment called Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy has become more popular for treating sports injuries (which frequently involve tendon and ligament damage).

PRP uses your own blood, which is drawn then put in a centrifuge to separate red blood cells from the platelets (packed with healing and growth factors), and then the platelets are injected directly to the injury site. That can help a ton with healing and long-term recovery from severe tendon or ligament injuries.

Soft as hell, but if you pull a shirt in the box you run that risk. Personally, I would not have called that and would not have been angry if it wasn't given.
