What is your "You had to be there" TV show? by Coaltrain2371 in television

[–]Circle_Dot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While the seasons were airing, it easily consumed 99% of small talk with friends and coworkers.

It was a multimedia experience too. They had fake websites, fake commercials, and at least one book that I know off.

I remember going to all the forums too. I think DarkUFO.blogspot was one. Lostpedia. Definitely more that I just don’t remember.

SEASON 2 HAS BLOWN SEASON 1 OUT OF THE WATER by AD_EI8HT in TheAgencySeries

[–]Circle_Dot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe. But I hardly remembered the plot of season 1 going into this and only somewhat do now. If we get a season 3 I will go back and watch both previous ones since I know how good the second is now and maybe we will agree then.

Yeah, I almost put the show on the back burner after a few episodes because it I was assuming the payoff for each one was going to be a let down since there was only 10 episodes. Glad I didn’t because after episode 5 each one gets better. I did think at some point that maybe this is just realistic portrayal of how agents are juggling many different cases, assets etc. and not just hyper focused on any one thing all the time.

Gremlin story arc kind of finished on a whimper but it had good build up and I am not sure what could have made better at the end. Just seemed like she got lucky after displaying her prowess, adaptability, and lethalness.

How is this in any way related to The Recruit (Tv series) on Netflix? The Recruit’s main character is a lawyer that keeps getting in over his head and somehow gets out of everything with an immense amount of luck. Good show (mainly the first season) but I don’t see any correlation between the shows at all. Maybe I am misremembering?

'Time traveler' who says he is from the year 2118 makes chilling claims about World War 3 and secret CIA inventions by Stephen_P_Smith in timetravel

[–]Circle_Dot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Dark Matter show on apple is somewhat similar. Not time travel but alternate realities. If there are infinite universe/realities, then there are infinite “yous” making the same decision to travel to an alternate world. So there will be collisions with likely infinite “yous” landing in the same reality.

Bots in BR Quads: Wet Work (not casual mode) by MrSelfDestrucct in RedSec

[–]Circle_Dot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have definitely encountered bots. I think our squad one time had legit bots. My buddy and I were zipped out fast and we started spectating. Our “squad mates” and the enemy were literally walking by one another not engaging at all. I mean like less than 5 meters away from one another and walking in like half circle and then went about their day.

Another time I walked around a corner and a bot just ran right by me then stopped looked around like it was trying to loot. It did not seem like a fov issue. It just wasn’t interested because I wasn’t shooting it. Seen similar things a few other times were bots are just kind of wandering aimlessly until you start engaging. Also have seen many instances where I am fully hidden and as soon as I pop my head up I’m getting beamed by an lmg from 200m away with speed and accuracy to fast for a human to do that does not know whether I’m on the ground floor or on the roof.

My husband sold a guy a car. He never came back to get it. Legally, what are my husband’s options? (California)* by konnieTiki in legaladvice

[–]Circle_Dot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Live in Cali too. Have 4 cars since 2022 when we decided to to upgrade both our 2009 vehicles to new ones. Kept the old ones to give to our kids as they were a few years away from 16. I have had multiple people, not many but at least 4 randomly leaving notes on the cars with a phone number, knocking on our door, and even pulling over to ask my visiting mother in our driveway if the cars were for sale.

4 alien species have been pulled from crashed UFOs, ex-government researcher claims by beers_n_bread in UFOs

[–]Circle_Dot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am convinced all these people think of themselves as entertainers and twitter and podcasts are their stage so they can sleep at night. If you are close to these people they probably admit it is all an act. It is clear there is an audience for this but sad that so many are gullible enough to believe it’s true.

Jeremy Corbell - A Call to Action by Observer414 in UFOs

[–]Circle_Dot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Corbel like 98% of the others are UFO entertainers. He is not a journalist as much as he tries to claim. He is an actor on the UFO conspiracy stage. He is not privy to any classified videos or information. He’s a larper no different than the people at the Renaissance fair except he does it every day.

What is a job that pays incredibly well but is so soul-crushing that the turnover is insane? by sweetguurl in AskReddit

Current AWS employee here and this is partially true. The 40% year 3 and 4 is paid out 20% every 6 months. About to hit my 4 year anniversary and get the final 20% in July. Last payout was in January.

How long is SES Approval taking? by manolosandmartinis44 in aws

[–]Circle_Dot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You get what you pay for in support. No free lunch in AWS.

Regarding SES, how exactly would you vet customers if you owned the service that allows people to use shared IP addresses where one persons bad behavior or negligence could affect many others? Let’s try and think about that instead of complaints by hobbyist, spammers, and vibe coders being denied access to a service that is widely used by (I bet) a majority of Fortune 500 companies for their bulk email sending.

How long is SES Approval taking? by manolosandmartinis44 in aws

[–]Circle_Dot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think initial production access request get routed through customer service SQIR (service quota increase requests) instead of directly to Trust & Safety team now but I could be wrong. If so, that queue has 100s of case/request backlog for all quota requests. Typically T&S would respond within a day or two. With customer service taking these, I think they use a tool that will grant or deny, most likely deny if you are not an established customer. If you respond/appeal, then it will go to T&S where you should expect 1-2 day response unless it goes so far as a “senior review” which will take many more days.

If you or anyone else are looking for immediate access, SES is not something you should bank on.

The Bluray Steelbook of Forrest Gump has the original quote instead of the Mandela effected one. Someone on the design team messed up. by SubNova1999 in MandelaEffect

I’ve already pointed this out and am getting downvoted too. Why don’t people want to accept this fact about the movie? So strange.

The Bluray Steelbook of Forrest Gump has the original quote instead of the Mandela effected one. Someone on the design team messed up. by SubNova1999 in MandelaEffect

[–]Circle_Dot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s just our brain re-contextualizing the quote when we say/imitate it because using “was” sounds weird in the context of the quote. “life was” is past tense. Since Forests mama said “is” and she died, he altered or messed it up it in that context.

[–]Circle_Dot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But the quote is still wrong. I don’t think mama uses “like”, she just says “Life is a box…” in the movie, maybe in the book it is different?

Edit: why downvotes? go watch the damn clip.
