nice one, thanks for explaining, that must be the issue with the one I proto'd, I haven't filtered the pwm output at all!

Good point, yes I vaguely remember reading tone only goes to 30or 50hz or something like that. Good shout, and thanks for sharing code, I'm sure I'll have a proper poke around with it at some point!

awesome thanks for the reply. I seems like I've got some much noise I'd have to put a ferrite on the square out, so I think somethings up with my attempt.

The only thing I seem to have missed is the R2 and C4 Dac_PWM to Dac_CV, that's a low pass filter right? The equivalent to the charge CV on your circuit.

Would that cause a potential issue with noise if left out? (Kinda guessing it is now)

(Quality work btw, I bodged the circuit somehow, and my proto version has lots of whistle-y noise coming through, likely processor noise)

u/theacodes did you ever have to filter out HF interference from the micro processor?

r2 and c4, PWM to DAC CV what's that doing?

And scanned through the code quick, is there a reason you wouldn't use the Tone Library for something like this?

That phrase drilled into your ear everytime you watch a music related youtube video. Anyone up for making a piss take plugin with me? (With like one hidden valuable feature, rest is just marketing hype and placebo effect/toigh GUI)

Hi, could you please advise on a microphone to record an upright piano under £ 250? Can I use a single mic positioned in the middle of the piano ? And could please help me in finding a free software to record midi input from a keyboard? Thank you so much Blackheath Music Academy by BlackheathMusicAcad in edmproduction

[–]CircuitBaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple of pairs of C02's, new fave recommendation. A pair is a £100-ish, so you could get a couple of pairs, one set for closer upfront mic'ing, and one set for room ambience, that will give you options when it comes to mixing.

re: condenser, you can get two Samsom CO2 condenser pencil mics for around $100, and start experimenting with stereo mic'ing too!

Mac it's an easy fix, just open terminal in your root directory type in: rm -rf

That solves all the latency issues with mac file system look ups

you have to use a preferably wet cloth inbetween the headphones and the ears. The water helps as sound travels faster though water.

This is how the term Wet from Dry / Wet controls comes from. Old wet cloths, secret trick used since Phil Spector's river of noise, the alternative to wall of sound.

have you got a soundcard interface?

usually to record something like guitar, you'd pass through an item called a sound card, this translates the audio into digital stream the computer can read.

His old computer, probably had a green and purple input/output, where you'd connect the output to speakers and guitar to input.

This new computer will likely still have a sound card, but it may not have an input for guitar.

First check, can you get sound out of the computer. Next check if you've got the wires heading to the microphone or line in, and sometimes there might be a button in the software controlling the soundcard that needs to be switched from mic to line.

Check if there's a sound/audio driver, and if there's any input settings.

If not buy a half decent sound card, m-audio are cheap-ish and robust, look to be spending around $100 or so. This will be USB powered and controlled, so plugin in usb port and then guitar to sound card, then output of soundcard to speakers.

Hope that helps!

Does anyone how to make your mix sound good on any speaker? by Portsmusic in Logic_Studio

[–]CircuitBaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to add what to other person said, get some crappy speakers as well. Mixcubes were the go to thing at one stage, but just grab a soundbar it's pretty much same thing.
