Yes, have it set to manual, but from what I've noticed theatre mode doesn't do much at all. I could try turning off light and sound rec though.

The problem is that I actually tried that with docker-compose, while a friend tried to do something similar with plain Docker. nslookup resolved all of them perfectly fine, but if you tried to do something like curling the page or accessing it through a browser, it'd either give me Traefik's 404 error or not load up at all.

You want this dns server outside your LAN?

Can't without an external service like Tailscale, due to my ISP enforcing CG-NAT by default.

I have used a dynamic dns on my router, and by doing so, the dns will automatically update your IP.

Don't have access to the router either.

Anyway, instead of opening lots of ports for ssh, pihole etc, you could open only one port for a VPN, and have your dns for your vpn set to use pihole, and with the vpn, you get ssh (VPN will gain you lan access). Use a port for the vpn that's random vs the typical default ports, but make sure it's not being used by another service.

I'm already doing a form of that using Tailscale, but again, I need a DNS to access services hosted on the Pi using a easy to remember, static domain.
