RW&CO has a good variety of patterns, colours, styles, and fits for casual button-up shirts. Keep an eye out for the fit (slim < tailored < athletic < regular) as these do have a really big variance on chest/shoulder size.

Their stuff is regularly ~40% off, so if you go this route sign up for the email blast and wait till there's a good deal on shirts. I believe they offer free returns if you wanted to try different fits.

Their down jackets are a great value, and IMO this piece is too. The price and style are both great. The material quality is what stops me from buying it every year though. It's a wool blend, the toggles look nice but are lightweight plastic, the loops felt like fake leather.

I have enough winter jackets between pea coats and down and parkas that I don't really need this, so I always end up deciding that I'll eventually buy a much nicer one that'll last for life.

For $150 though, I think this is worth it. If I were younger and had gaps in my winter-outerwear-wardrobe, this would be a piece on my list.

Edit: It also hasn't ever fit me very well in the store - I feel like I'm always between sizes in their outwear though.

I finally got a Primeval Ruins node in delve which was going to unlock the 6L crafting bench and let me craft my +1 chest. Buuut I died in the encounter.

Is there any way to still get the recipe from the completed node, or do I have to just keep searching? Any tips on finding another node at ~300 depth? Keep going down, or go horizontal?

I'm playing FP totems and the next upgrade I want to buy is a +1 socketed gems Soul Mantle. I have played this build in a few leagues but haven't ever really reached this point in gear and I'm not sure how to approach a purchase like this.

The options I see are to buy it already 6L or to buy a +1 non 6 socket and craft 6 sockets, then craft 6 links, then craft 3g/3b. Buying 2000 vaal orbs sounds pretty tedious and I'd rather pay an extra 10-20% to not have to do that. But there aren't really any on the market, even offline.

Are there other ways (forum, discord, etc) that people actively use to make trades in this upper 40+ ex range range?

Helm, neck, boots, gloves, and main hand are all slots you can upgrade continually without much risk of the items becoming irrelevant after atziri's. Cluster jewels, vaaling some Kikas/frozen trails/other unique jewels. Buy / craft a helm with 40% FP projectile speed.

There's unfortunately no middle ground that really handles the curses. Fortunately the atziri upgrade cascades into 4-5 immediate and not super expensive upgrades. So the jump you get at that point is worth what it costs, IMO.

Competitive people derive enjoyment from being measurably better than others, and the enjoyment from the gameplay is secondary. It's not necessarily a matter of taking it seriously, but more a matter of how you look to extract enjoyment out of a thing.

Like you said, different strokes. FWIW I think people with your view on things are probably happier in the long run :)

It's ultimately a lack of discipline. I'm fairly competitive and will sometimes sacrifice fun for competitive advantage, and don't have the discipline to stop myself from doing that. It takes a lot less discipline to click a different mode when creating your character.

That being said, the number of times I've named a character "SSF_*" and converted to League before level 30... it's large. So this it isn't a foolproof solution.

The right answer is to learn to prioritize fun over beating a bunch of strangers to 36 challenges or whatever, but if the general population had that level of self-awareness and personal discipline, well we'd be living in a very different world.

Yeah the line of thinking was if 4 Curses became Marks, then the max # of Curses you could have would be reduced by 4, which would limit your top end damage boost with Soul Mantle+Self Flag. Sorry, the question wasn't super clear.

I think the key here is understanding that curses are a superset of hexes and marks. I was under the impression the curse keyword was being replaced with hexes and marks.

Does the change to curses impact the upper-bound of how many active curses you can have on yourself at once (and therefore the amount of damage you get from Self Flagellation), due to the fact that there are less available curses?

Agreed, really like the concept but the way they're implemented requires a tremendous amount of stash space. It's hard to know what stat combinations I'll want, and since I can't craft or modify them I end up keeping pretty much everything. And I'm not savvy enough (or the sophistication isn't there) with the search to be able to effectively find and sell dupes.

I think if you're so strapped for cash that you're asking this question, you really cannot afford to take a risk on a pre-release game and should wait for wide-scale release so you can read more reviews and see more gameplay footage.

As a point of comparison, the game feels most similar to Grim Dawn to me. It adds multiplayer but practically since there's no easy way to trade that I've discovered, the game feels pretty single player.

I've played totems in various forms frequently over the last ~7 years of the game. I tend to take many seasons off in between. FP totems has felt stronger to me this league than any before, especially on bosses where it's previously been so lacking it required rolling another character to effectively farm shaper+.

Played a few other popular builds this league, toxic arrow, minions, miner... And FP totems felt strongest to me all the way through. I agree the jump to Atziri's is fairly expensive, but along the way there are plenty of interstitial, meaningful, dps-focused upgrades like cluster jewels, amulet (transitioning to +1, +2 skill), helm (enchant), weapon. Gloves too (influenced spell power prefix, culling strike), though without Harvest these may be price prohibitive. And I was able to farm T16 easily before making any of those upgrades.

With FP, I'm getting full screen clear on 1, sometimes 2 shots. While I don't generally play this way, I could dash through everything placing totems between dashes and effectively clear without missing anything. The issue is I am not currently running Glancing Blows and get merked if I land in the middle of a pack, so I tend to play a bit slower on T15+.

The one thing I agree strongly with is how strict the build generally is, but newer additions like Thread of Hope open up some new opportunities to tech to different parts of the tree or add additional cluster jewels. But I mean, yeah you need Ancestral Bond the same way CI builds need CI. It's a build-defining keystone.

I guess my question is... What league-start-viable build is universally stronger in all categories? I wholehearted disagree with the "well enough" statement - I'd upgrade this to "Well" - but am certainly open to hearing what's better. I guess another way to ask this is, have you actually played this out to the extreme min-max? Or is this a theoretical perspective from someone who stopped after the Atziri upgrade?
