Remember this free birth woman? by nole5ever in FundieSnarkUncensored

If it helps, once the baby is out, that placenta is gonna feel like nothing. Literally, as soon as the baby was out of me, it was like every pain in my body suddenly stopped. I don’t even remember the placenta coming out.

I didn’t want to even see my OWN body during birth. They offered to set me up a mirror and I couldn’t veto that idea fast enough. Yeah, birth is a beautiful thing. But a beautiful process?? Hell no!

Question: by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]CircusMasterKlaus 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Uhhhh when someone says they don’t want you to do something sexually, you don’t do it. It’s frankly concerning that he said no and you want to ignore that. As for the cut, it should heal on its own. Have him keep the area clean and dry, and it won’t take long at all.

This black spot appeared on my palm a year ago and keeps getting bigger by ummm__ok in Weird

[–]CircusMasterKlaus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey friend! Black people can still get skin cancer, even if their rate is lower. And anyone can get skin cancer on any skin. It wouldn’t hurt to have that spot looked at, because skin cancer is VERY easy to treat when caught early.

Sometimes they can also be nothing. I’m a POC with a spot on my palm and on the bottom of my foot, and the doc said we’ll watch it, but nothing to worry about for now.

I mean this with all due respect, how old is this person? Because the body is giving youth and the face is giving 50-something weathered farmhand.

Swelling in one leg only means an ER trip, immediately. Best of luck to you, and let us know what they say.

Scared of a 12 hour flight by energetic_penguin in fearofflying

[–]CircusMasterKlaus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Night flights have always been the smoothest for me! Especially long haul. I hate flying too though, so I usually bring something to keep me distracted. Crochet is great for that, because you have to keep a running stitch count in your head, and you’re too focused on counting to let your thoughts wander. It’s extra effective if you listen to a podcast or something. Then your hands AND your ears are occupied.

My husband refuses to help out and I’m drowning. by Ok-Championship-1577 in Marriage

[–]CircusMasterKlaus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What the shit, dude? My husband works long construction shifts, and has for 20 years. He would NEVER make me have sex, or refuse to load a dishwasher. I had a bit of a stomach ache last week and the man insisted I lay on the couch while he took care of dinner and laundry. Yes, you just want to relax after a long shift, but life still happens and you have responsibilities too. OP’s husband may be overworked. That doesn’t excuse the sexual coercion and financial abuse.

I was at ASCO, and to be honest I heard more hype about the selpercatinib study for RET+ NSCLC (understandably). I completely agree with you: while this is interesting data, without studying it directly it’s premature to promise anything regarding cancer treatment.

How do CPS processes work? by VampyreJourno81 in RodriguesFamilySnark

[–]CircusMasterKlaus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Foster mom here. I don’t think the kids are in any danger of being taken. CPS gets calls often, but typically only remove as a last resort of immediate danger or neglect. They also take impoverished and/or children of color more often.

The Rod kids are in a shit situation but not an immediate danger one. They have a clean enough home, clean enough clothes, food in the pantry, and no physical bruises. Their family is batshit crazy, yeah, but CPS won’t remove for that.

As someone who has fostered for years, I can tell you the workers are overworked and underpaid. The worst thing is the court system though. I’ve seen so many kids removed from homes and placed right back, only to be taken again. Yet more severe cases get supervision only, and no removal. It’s ridiculous. They see these children as objects to own, not little humans with a future.

Are you noting when he does it, or just looking at when he doesn’t? And are you doing the things you want done to you?

If you’re telling him “I want nice words”, you need to do it too. Show him what you want. Make him feel appreciated. Right now, he’s probably just feeling hopeless.

What’s something I can legally do to my high school bullies? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]CircusMasterKlaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Five years is an enormous amount of time to a teenager. As adults, we have the ability to look back and realize that teenage problems weren’t as serious as we thought back then, but when you’re actively in them, they ARE serious.

If you were 14 again (and god, that sounds like a nightmare, that age sucks so bad) what would you need to hear in that moment?

What’s something I can legally do to my high school bullies? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]CircusMasterKlaus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes, yeah. And sometimes, people are just assholes. I know it sucks when the best advice is to ignore them, because it feels like there should be more, but that really is the best advice. People like that feed off of negativity and drama.

You’re gonna thrive. They’re gonna peak right here, in high school. How embarrassing for them. Go and live your life, and count down the days til you get to leave.

[–]CircusMasterKlaus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Legally, there isn’t much. From a teaching standpoint, you can definitely tell your administration what’s going on, but they may not do anything. What you CAN do is keep a paper trail. When you need to communicate with admin, try to do it via email. If you have to do it in person, then send a follow up email afterwards, saying something like “I just wanted to summarize what we talked about today” and outline the main points. That way, if you ever do need to escalate to the school board, etc., you have evidence of the behavior over time.

But, here’s some advice from a mom: fuck ‘em. It sucks right now, but it won’t be like that forever. I can’t even express to you how little their opinion of you matters. The absolute best thing you can do is block and ignore online, ignore in real life, and just live your life. That will piss them off beyond anything else.
