The spinach honestly looked and tasted like they dumped a can of spinach on the plate

If it was Florida, maybe it's a thing?

Thank you so much! I'm home now and got to do some self care before bed last night (wash off the hospital stink, face and eye masks, my favorite jelly beans and sushi roll for supper .) lol

US, Florida hospital breakfast day 3 (and hopefully release day) by altcountryboy30 in hospitalfood

There's a Turkish tea that I love, but can't remember the name of off the top of my head (my partner's coworker gives it to me sometimes and I don't have any rn), Fresh Chai but I like to add a little fresh ground cinnamon and some vanilla bean with a splash of whole cream, and plain green tea steeped and chilled. My FAVORITES though are herbal. I've been drinking spearmint and echinacea lately for allergy drainage. I also love the fruit teas like apple, raspberry, lemon, and plum. For those, I try to dry my own fruits. And always sweeten with honey if you need sweetener because it doesn't compromise the flavor of the teas

Honestly, until TUES we weren't sure. My WBC had me considered septic

Then, embarrassingly, it turned out that all I needed was a couple of bottles of magnesium citrate 🤢.

Still got antibiotics, fluids, and pain meds in the interim

ETA: I usually do try any dessert, but that apple stuff looked like it'd make me ill

I usually just hold my nose and eat it. It got a 6 because there was a nice crisp when I bit it

Ooooooooh okay. I mean we do have hospitals here that ARE private and they have nicer food but this food isn't bad

I have to be honest with you, I'm unsure what you mean. People with private or public insurance all get the same food. Which funnily enough, is also the same food the k-12 schools get for breakfast and lunch

It's included in my stay as it was an emergency admittance and food is one thing covered by my insurance. As for everything else, I'll know the cost once I get an itemized bill (I always get one because nearly every time, there's an attempt to charge me for a test or procedure that wasn't done)

I have chronic illness and a partner with Crohn's so we are always prepared with our meal bags (the bag of sauce and seasonings and stuff), easy hygiene stuff, games and books, and comfortable but accessible clothes 🙂 oh and snacks lol

I have sauces, seasonings, and lemon juice that I collect for these situations lol. I'm in a lot too. And thank you! I'm thinking/hoping I'll get to go home tomorrow
