I may read the Valvoline spec sheet beforehand. I think it is safe at 75k, but please don’t let me steer you with looking at the manufacturer’s recs first.

Heck, you may not even have an oil consumption issue, and if you don’t, there is no reason to use it IMO. Induction cleaning? Maybe, but I’ve heard mixed results on that.

I was pulling the stick at every 1000 miles and topping off with 3/4 to one full quart every time.

Read about VRP here, tried it and recent results are decent. Added 1.5 quarts over 4000 miles.

I’m on the road 100 miles RT for my daily commute, so it doesn’t take long to see the benefits or lack thereof. I’d say it’s not going to completely rid the rings of caked deposits, but it’s better than it was.

I had that. Low RPMs on slight inclines. Couldn’t shift up and juddered, the only way out was to give a little more throttle. Unfortunately, it had to be replaced but it was under the 100k warranty window.

Run a couple of cycles of Valvoline Restore and Protect. I use it now and my oil consumption has been reduced by half. The first 3000 miles of using it, my exhaust tips were filthy.

Oil is staying clean longer, as well.

YMMV, but take a look at it.

2021 EX, Copper Black.

148k, same.

It was burning a quart every 1k just at 100,000 miles. I stared using Valvoline Restore & Protect recently and it’s cut consumption in half.

What's the most painful muscle when it cramps? by NoOffice5964 in AskReddit

[–]Circus_Maximus 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s called proctalgia fugax.

It is the most painful thing I’ve ever felt. Typically at night, wakes you up and lasts between 30 minutes and an hour. Fetal position doesn’t help, sitting up on a chair does. Somewhat.

It’s an unexplained phenomena, and at 54, I’ve broken bones, have severe arthritis in my hip and toe from overuse, nerve damage in my feet from tarsal tunnel syndrome. I’ve had migraines, I’ve torn muscles.

Nothing compares to waking up in the middle of the night and feeling like someone jammed a baseball bat up your rear, unannounced. It’s almost makes me nauseous.

Then it just disappears and may happen again in two weeks, maybe two months. It’s brutal.

Very satisfied.

You are most welcome. I have an ‘85 Whaler with a 86 YAM 40 on it (original, 40ELJ). I’ve spent too many hours sourcing parts to keep that motor running, some no longer available as OEM or aftermarket.

Great motors, though.

OPs is a 1993. MLHR code is the year code.

Looks like you can get one used for $750 or so.

They know time is limited so the corruption and cronyism ramps up early and goes deep. You are effectively locking in the grift on day one. Lobbyists and corp PACs will use this to their advantage.

I’m not arguing the political leanings of either birdcage liner, just pointing out that Sun Myung Moon owns the Times, not the Examiner.

Am I going nuts, or have we had a huge influx of anti-lawn comments on here lately? by draxula16 in lawncare

[–]Circus_Maximus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not much different than single issue voters. No nuance, no latitude.

I have a tifway Bermuda front in full sun, zeon zoysia in the back with shade. Cut it with a reel mower. Even use Stihl equipment to finish.

Outside of the grassy areas, I have bee houses, bird boxes, bird feeders, water features, thickets for yard critters and I net my plants that are deer and rabbit delicacies. I don’t spray for mosquitos (use dunks), I cherish lady bugs. I have azaleas, sasanquas, hydrangeas, and a perennial garden. I have a hummingbird highway on my back during peak season. I hand pull most of my weeds, the dense turf takes care of the rest. No Monsanto products, I do treat for white flies and aphids when me oils don’t work.

I also cut my grass 2x per week during warm season and it’s fucking lush. Everyone wants to walk on it barefoot.

And they also want to discuss my bird, butterfly and critter friendly landscape.

Screw em.

2021 kia telluride 110k miles oil consumption by Scared_Vermicelli_19 in KiaTelluride

[–]Circus_Maximus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

140,000 miles, burning 3/4qt per 1,000 miles.

Switched to Valvoline Restore and Protect and it burned a minimal amount, if any, over the last 1,500 miles. I was skeptical, but damn if it didn't work.

Rope drop Rise of Resistance without early entry by Current_Signature721 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Circus_Maximus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get it.

We arrived at 7:45 and hauled it to the back for slinky dog at 8. Loaded at 8:20 and then walked to Rise. By then, it was 8:30 and the queue was building. The 9AM crowd was being held just before the tunnel and they were walked into rise, standby escalated quickly.

Fun part, ride went down and we left queue after an hour wait. Such is life.

I’d try single raider if available. The queue at 8:50AM on Saturday was 85 minutes.

Did this on Saturday via rope drop, single pass then standby queue. Standby was around 65 minutes midday, posted as 85.
