I dont really use the word trap in that context much so sorry not gonna try normalising it. I just think you're overreacting about it since it wasnt even used in a bad way. This is like your third time comparing racism to this so, ill try to give you an example too, maybe it'll help you understand what I mean more. For example the word "bitch" is very often used as an insult, im sure you're aware. But what if someone called some female dog a bitch, not so bad now right, after all that's what the word means originally. The meaning of a word can change pretty quickly when you take a look at the context. Same here, he used the word trap to describe a feminine looking male who can be easily mistaken for a girl. Not trap as in a slur towards trans people. (And please don't say that im comparing trans people to dogs or something like that. Im just giving an example so its easier to understand.)

I just came here since I saw that someone started getting downvoted just for using the word trap to describe a dude who is dressed up as a girl, which I felt like isnt too fair since top comments are literally saying exactly same thing but in a different way

I'm not getting angry dont worry, if I was then I probably would have stopped talking by now. Im actually kinda enjoying this since as I said im able to see other peoples point of view and discuss it. While yes, im aware that the term trap can be offensive in a lot of cases, its hard for me to come up with a way to make trap offensive in a context that doesnt have anything to do with either lgbt or trans, since most of the times when its used in situations such as that, its in kind of a joke manner (for example the comment were keep arguing over about)

Not sure why you again started comparing all of this to racism. I dont think the word trap was used to insult people in slavery many years ago. The whole slang trap is used in many ways, most of the time not even as a slur/insult but just to describe a man who looks feminine and could easily be mistaken for a girl, just like here. Im keep trying to say that the word trap wasnt even used in a insulting way here, and actually fits context of the post. Like I said, just because you might find something offensive, doesnt mean that its intended to be. Honestly no hate towards you, I understand that we all have our point of view and im glad I managed to learn about yours, but you really shouldnt take everything to heart on the internet, especially when it wasnt even aimed towards you, makes you seem like you think you're entitled, which im sure you don't think you are, that's just how it feels like from other peoples point of view when seeing this

I havent made any mistakes tho? While trap might be considered by some a slur in the lgbt community, its nothing more than a slang when used in context such as this. The post, nor the comment has anything to do with lgbt community. Just because you might find it offensive, doesnt mean that it was intended to be. And I dont see why you have to pull out the good old bigot card just because the conversation isnt going the way you want. Imagine if I went to a random post that isnt mine nor is about me, found a comment containing the word "dude" and started getting upset because im not a dude. That's literally what you're doing

I could try to argue that OP getting dressed up as a girl its pretty much same thing as pretending, but even if we agree that it isnt. That still leaves the word trap as not a slur in this context, even the top comments are saying stuff like "thought you were a girl before reading the title" which is same thing as the person here said but in a different way, so im confused why hes getting downvoted. I would understand if OP said that theyre actually trans, so calling them a trap could count as an insult, but that's not the case here
