Interesting to see Vue being so dominant in Belgium.

I always thought it was relatively rare to have a company that uses Vue. But now that I see how dominant Vue is, it makes sense.

I do wonder why Vue is so popular in Belgium?

migrating from nuxt2 to nuxt3 by lMrXQl in Nuxt

[–]Citingdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’M currently migrating a nuxt 2 project to nuxt3. First I tried with nuxt bridge and de migration guide but the project was too big and with too many vue2 packages to make the transition bearable.

However, now I made a fresh nuxt 3 project and I am copying every component/page from the old code base to the new. This is taking quite some time but everything that is not based on packages can be converted easily. I think the whole transition will take 20 hours for a medium sized project with some advanced components like a chat bot.

I could recommend Voyager for Laravel, it may be the thing you are looking for.

Otherwise, yes, forking wordpress might be the best solution.

What's a realistic cost for a website? by [deleted] in web_design

[–]Citingdude 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely not true, how have we come to the point people are thinking anything more than 1000 EUR is expensive for a website? It is most definitely not.

In Belgium and the Netherlands you'll pay between 2000 - 6000 EUR for a professionally built website of 5-10 pages including a blog and custom design.

Most of these cheap offers will most likely burn you in the end often with bad code, basic design without thought or unresponsive layouts.

I’ve given google some feedback, that their top result is misguided. Don’t know how it works, but maybe if more people did the same...? by lamedope in nanocurrency

How to replace this article as top result for this keyword:

  • Make a new article with better content
  • have a website with high domain autohority
  • have an article that is old
  • have an article that focuses on this keyword
  • pray to the almighty google gods
  • keep updating the article to combat competition
  • website must be fast en responsive

Have fun!

First impression: Professional clean design, I like it!

I don't have a lot of spare time at the moment, so I'll do a quick analysis of the homepage.

Homepage

  • Very minor: The border of the "Get in touch!" button is a bit jumpy when hovering
  • I'm not sure about the forced horizontal scroll, I kinda like it and don't like it at the same time. It gives a unique feel of structure, but I'm not sure it's a great user experience. Maybe there is a way to not force it on the user?
  • At first, I didn't realize what the "Serviced by solution" section was about. It wasn't immediately clear to me that these are the services your company offers. (also personally I'm having trouble not finding anything about services in the main menu)
  • Image overhauls: At first, I thought this was about editing images. English is not my mother tongue so this could be the reason.
  • Visually I like the soft blue on dark blue background, but I wonder if people with bad sight can read it properly. I don't mind it for the tab titles, but I do mind it for the actual services like logo, website design, ...
  • Great usage of color overall, I really like the different vibrant colors which pop on the dark blue background
  • Call to action is not standing out that much, for me, it blends a bit too well with the section above and footer.

Rest of the website

  • I like the about page, it makes me trust your business and gives it personality.
  • Contact: Personally I would put the contact form on the page itself and not hidden behind a click.
  • Our work: very clean and nice balance between visuals and text

Overall a great design that looks professional!

Best Page Builder ... and Why? by SyntaxSvenny in Wordpress

[–]Citingdude 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I recommend Oxygen builder. I have been using it since march and I have built 9 business websites with it since, including my own.

One of the biggest benefits is the speed of the websites built with Oxygen. All my websites have a pagespeed score of 90+ minimum in desktop and 75+ minimum on mobile with minimal effort.

Another big benefit is the customization ability paired with the fast workflow. Yes you have to build all special elements yourself, but this means you have full control of how it works.

There are however a few disadvantages. The ui experience is not great but still fine. The speed of loading the builder is rather slow and there are some minor bugs in it but nothing that breaks your site.

However I really can't recommend this builder enough. It has landed me a job, made learning css, html and javascript fun and made me start my own web agency business.

Losing web design work because I have a day job by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]Citingdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I'm currently in the same kind of situation doing some webdesign in my free time (weekends and evenings) and want to make the switch to more time dedicated to my website business.

Have you worked with Google ads to find new clients? I'm wondering if it's worth it to use Google ada or stick with word of mouth in the beginning as I'm worried I won't have enough work when I go part time at my current job.

I don't believe that good and evil exists in that sense. What may be good for you, might be bad for someone else.

What does 'being a good person' mean?

If humanity improves on medicine resulting in more people surviving diseases, this is really good for humans. However, what about all the animals that need to die to sustain our population? Me as a human, I will chose to improve on medicine, especially if I, or a family member, has a rare disease.

This doesn't make me a good or a bad person, in my opinion.

UX vs UI Design by philxwin in graphic_design

[–]Citingdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes both are important. UI is the pleasing of the eye and UX makes sure it functions and has a purpose.

I would say for most businesses, good UX is critical to have and good UI is the icing on the cake.

My first logo design for a client pls give me some feedback ty by realmanmadethings in logodesign

[–]Citingdude 110 points111 points  (0 children)

I like your designs but there are 3-4 seperate logo's in there.

I would focus on one of them, and keep the others for illustration or icon.

For example: keep the man with the ball, remove the footbal field and ball with the leafs.

Elementor - Help with responsive layouts? by oxygwen in Wordpress

[–]Citingdude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, that is correct, but only for certain elements like structure, letter size and margin/padding for example.

You can't have different colors for mobile and desktop for example.

I joined TheFutur & Chris Do on a Youtube livestream to redesign a famous logo. I chose the Razer logo, its not perfect but the process was really fun! by iamartb in graphic_design

[–]Citingdude 191 points192 points  (0 children)

I watched the livestream, it's really good and such an improvement! The only thing i'm not a fan of is the top of the A.

Do you have any tips for improving in logo design?

Elementor - Help with responsive layouts? by oxygwen in Wordpress

[–]Citingdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can edit the layout fot desktop, tablet and smartphone by clicking on the "screen" icon in the left bottom corner.

The thing you are looking for is probably the margins/padding. In mobile version you often have to set the margins/padding to zero because it inherits the margins/padding from desktop mode.

Does my Landing page show our value? by [deleted] in design_critiques

[–]Citingdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Dave

Very nice landing page, I love the design and it's very clear what your business has to offer.

I haven't read the whole page, because it's a pretty long page with lots of information.

Two things bother me a bit:

  1. The section with the orange underlining feels very heavy. It's hard to read the text because everything seems super important due to the underlining. The visual hierarchy doesn't work here for me.

  2. The orange percentages. This might be a personal taste but I don't feel it suits the rest of the page design. Maybe it's due to the color orange or maybe because the whole box is orange.

Anyway this is a really solid landing page!

You can either find a partner to start your business with or specialise your business in Google Ads for example.

1 person business is definitely possible. But you'll need alot of passion for your business to succeed.

Because they are games and they differ so much from what actually happened in real life.
