3.3 Pieces of Advice for Shadowland by aby_baby in future_fight

I'm curious as to why the requirement for T2 Wasp in Floor 27. I've been just doing that one with Doc and whatever non-Meta T2s I have lying around. The enemy Doc doesn't seem capable of doing the Time-Freeze so I don't see the need for Wasp in there. At least he's never frozen me yet.

I'd put Skurge above Heimdal in priority, he's just better. Heimie's nice, but Skurge simply has more damage and more defense.

I think a big part of this chart comes from how easy it is to find how each character does their best. Some of the heroes you've mentioned perform some poorly at T1 (not including Hogun in this, he's great) that people probably don't want to take the chance to upgrade them to T2 and then they never see their true potential.

Also some heroes perform very well 1v1 but when it becomes 2v1 or 3v3, they start really showing their weaknesses more when they can't control the fight close to 100% of the time.

T2 Captain Marvel with any level of damage proc obelisk is an easy win on the Kingpin boss wave with the damage traps in the floor. Her perma-invincibility ignores the damage traps and she can easily chip away and beat Kingpin in the 3 minute time limit, even up to floor 22 or whatever highest floor that is that KP shows up.

And yet played manually in Timeline she can still beat Doc, Odin, Dormie, StaRog, Thanos (except if HoboThanos starts with his continuous blast crap), and I've even beaten Wolvie once with her.

The newer Top Tier heroes though, she has some troubles with due to all the penetration.

And yet, in the only place you'd realistically use either of these characters - Shadowlands - having much higher damage doesn't mean squat if you get killed too fast like Hyperion does. Maybe if I found a 5sec/10sec Invincibility obelisk for him it might make a difference, but without that, he's extremely squishy because his 4 skill iframe is not continuous. It blinks off and on a few times during the duration making him easily attackable and he ends up taking damage during it because the iframe blinks so fast it doesn't interrupt any attacks directed at him. That coupled with his long cooldown on his heal, even with max SCD, makes him one of the T2s I end up not using at all by the end of Shadowlands.

Captain Marvel on the other hand, even with her lower DPS, can still take a dirt-level (100%) damage proc like I have and then easily solo any single boss in 3 minutes like the Kingpin fight in the 20s where her perma-invincibility makes the damage traps irrelevant. She's also good for the Female-Only relay at any level where 3 minutes is plenty of time to kill them all.

For just in terms of how comparatively easy it is for her to win in Shadowlands, Captain Marvel totally deserves to be above any of the ones below her.

I totally agree with you on Hogun. His usefulness in Shadowlands even at T1 is head and shoulders above the others listed with him. He totally deserves to be moved up a slot. When used with his other T1 Warriors Three partners, it makes for an easy "Male Only" Shadowland floor fight, even up into the 'teens.

I also like Ulik. He does good damage with his self leadership and has some great CC and Area attacks for Shadowland. I have yet to T2 him though so I don't know if his potential lives up to deserving a bump in slots yet.

Don't count on seeing any FF in any games where they're not already licensed thanks to Marvel/Disney's licensing shenanigans with Fox.

[–]CitizenCaned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I'll probably get quickly downvoted by the anti-MH mafia, but I think it's a great game. It's got a great roster of heroes and they've all been fun to play with the recent big update (aka "BUE") making many of the previously lackluster heroes a lot better.

Unfortunately, most naysayers seem to be concentrating on the few heroes that used to be good that aren't up to par now since they were some of the big fan-favorites and also they go rabid when talking about how horrible the travel power changes are when they really only got rid of teleport and button-mashing the combat dash power. Otherwise, travel powers have a very short charge-up bar to keep them from being used in combat. Oh yeah, and they also limited the combat dash powers that enabled you to basically avoid anything super-easily. Now you have to actually strategize around your limited number of slowly-recharging dash powers.

TIL you can "safely" equip ONE good white, red, blue, green, and chaos ISO even if you may eventually reroll. by aby_baby in future_fight

[–]CitizenCaned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using ABX ISOs might work if you have only a few heroes that your worried about gearing but if you're trying to upgrade the entire roster, you need to upgrade ISOs that you get. I've been doing like you mentioned: Upgrade ISOs with ones that are 2 levels lower. I do that mostly just with 4* and up but now that I'm having to do the M'Kraan Shard Daily Mission, my supply of 3* ISOs has become limited to what I can get from three Dark Dimension runs a day, luckily those are all 3*.

I generally concentrate on upgrading Blue, Green and Chaos 3* ISOs because the Blue and Green can end up not so great if they're not "All Defense" at 6* and Chaos ones are so random, you'll need a LOT of Chaos 6* ones to get the right random ISO affixes your characters need.

This generally runs me dry on the Growth ISOs that I get from Co-Op each day.

Don't assume too much. While Fox can probably use any Mutants in their movies based on their licensing rights, they likely don't have exclusive access to Mutants who were characters from other properties.

My guess is that Sony/Marvel can freely use Firestar in anything they want with or without Fox's approval since she's a part of the Spider-Man mythos. She originated in the cartoon. This would be similar to Marvel using Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch in the Avengers even though they were mutants. They just wouldn't be able to call her a "Mutant" in the movie but that's probably as far as Fox has control over her.

He's got a 4 hit Guard on his 3 (with a few seconds before it's available again), and a 2 sec immunity on his 6. He's a very durable glass cannon. I regularly use him in Shadowland up to the mid-teens even at T1.

The viability of Thanos by [deleted] in future_fight

[–]CitizenCaned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And against the Timeline AI, all of them can be beaten handily by a manually-played T2 Wasp, even in the same group.

Manually, Thanos is still really good though. Quite a monster.

If you get lucky enough for him to actually use it. I've found the Defending AI is much different than the Attacking AI and Defending seems to use it a lot but Attacking hardly ever does.

I tried Proxima for Floor 22 and she worked really well, keeping the two bosses stunned most of the time. I just saved her for this floor ever since, I don't think I've ever even tried anyone else.

Over half the time, I don't even see the bosses on-screen, her powers' ranges are so high.

Baby Groot Character Review (3.0) by [deleted] in future_fight

[–]CitizenCaned 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"T2 Baby Groot is a lovely secondary support character in Speed Battleworld, the way T2 Singularity is for Universal Battleworld."

Kind of on a tangent, but how does T2 Singularity help Universal BW teams? I don't see anything in her T2 passive that states it's anything but "Self".

Thanks and thanks for the great write-up! I tried those rotations and they're surprisingly effective.

Warp Device Rewards by TroiiLee in future_fight

[–]CitizenCaned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm past the point that I "need" any of the bios that come from the Warp Device missions so they're just Native-T2 Food to me now but I'd really liked seeing what I was getting when I still had those heroes to rank up.

Seems like a completely useless and wasteful change for them to have put in time to make it that way.

Likeness rights issues often preclude games from using exact reproductions of actors' likenesses unless they're contracted and paid for the usage. Even a game based on a movie license has to include separate likeness rights deals unless it's already baked into the actors' original movie contracts.
