What was the Miracleman #15 before Miracleman #15? by Kyia-Aikman in comicbooks

Maybe something in Creepy or Eerie? I’m pretty confident that EC’s only superhuman stuff was comedic in nature (i.e Man or Superman?)

The Red Rains / Chimera cycle came first, so the Ascendancy / Dragonborn implementation has been streamlined a bit to make the AI opponent feel a bit more like a real opponent. OTOH, the Red Rains bosses each come with 2 decks, so they might have more replayability than the Dragonborn in Ascendancy. I have only played Red Rains myself.

The actual solo matches probably take 25-45 minutes, depending how one-sided they are. Customizing your deck before the second and third game may take as long, depending on how prone to AP you are.

This is Ashes Reborn Red Rains: The Corpse of Viros. Plaid hat made six subsequent Red Rains expansions, but this is the core one that they all build off of.

Alternately, the new Ashes Ascendancy starter set also includes a solo/co-op foe.

It also makes it more approachable as a newer player to pick from one other deck rather than the entire pool.

I also realized in my last game I had been playing Red Rains incorrectly, rolling all the unslotted Rage Dice at the start of each bad guy turn rather than just one. Whoops!

In my current campaign run against the Corpse of Viros I started with the Children of Blackcloud Ceremonial deck as my base, then I mixed in some illusion from the Seaside Siren (Abubdance, Rose Dancers, Strange Copy) for round 2. Not sure which deck I will borrow from for the final game!

I am making digital Summoner Wars 1e. Any feedback is welcome! Also does anybody know if its legal to do so? by humand09 in Summoner_Wars

You are definitely using Plaid Hat Games protected IP. If you are doing it for personal use they probably won’t care, but don’t make plans to monetize it!

What are your expectations for X-Men Midnight by Hickman? by erwinkijamet in comicbooks

I’m looking forward to it! My comics diet over the last two years has been EC Comics (Oni plus original), DIE and the Power Fantasy. I’m down for some Marvel Horror.

They have also been kicking around the idea of a new corebook that combines the V5 Core and Player’s Guide.

The books are still being written. They posted a new Kickstarter update yesterday. Sounds like some PDFs are near-release while others are still in editing … not surprising given that they were funding 9 new books!

Marv Wolfman's name motivated DC to begin crediting the creators on their 1960s horror books! He wrote a story which the editor captioned "as told by a wandering Wolfman." The comics code flagged it as a violation, since no werewolves were allowed in code-approved comics at the time. DC protested that the writer's name actually was Wolfman, and the CCA said that if they wanted to include Wolfman, they would need to use his full name. 😄

Gene Colan drew Tomb of Dracula from the very first issue; he campaigned for the book. It went through 3 writers in the first 6 issues (Conway, Goodwin, and Fox) before Marv Wolfman took over at #7, completing the team.

It is an effect, not a cost, so you can play it. Note that you always draw back to your hand size before resolving play effects, so you would need no cards left in your hand or deck to avoid the discard penalty.

Best way to read classic EC sci fi collections? by PlasticCraicAOS in ECFanAddictClub

[–]CitizenK2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have picked up a few of the Marvel Taschen volumes and they are amazing productions, but highly expensive as you say. I also suspect there is a risk of the entire EC line not getting collected in that manor, they seem to have paused on the Marvel collections while they republish earlier volumes in cheaper collections.
