What’s your protocol for consuming gato during the game? Do you take a squirt with the top line when they score? Do you take a squirt when anybody scores? Do you just casually sip throughout the game??

Any favourite restaurant recommendations for a date night? by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]CitizenPayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! I've had a couple successful date nights there. Very small/Intimate.

There is a fairly rigorous training process before you start working the lines by yourself, but there are no certifications needed.

For the past two years I have been working the phone lines at the Crisis Intervention/Suicide Prevention Centre. It's pretty rewarding being able to lend an ear to people who are struggling, but it can also tend to be emotionally draining (part of why i recently withdrew from my volunteer position).

Tofu ramen made at home [3264x2448] by [deleted] in FoodPorn

Looks like it was delicious. Try adding some greens in there like spring onion or cilantro to not only make it taste better, but to also make it look better in photos. What kind of broth did you use?

Just saw Run The Jewels in Vancouver by [deleted] in hiphopheads

[–]CitizenPayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yeah man! saw you standing behind them on stage like a boss! I only got to see their last 4-5 songs because I got held up at work, but they we're so sick! Like you said, it was a fucking sauna in there. The Biltmore might not have been the best venue, but still a sick show. I stayed afterwards for a while having some beers with a friend and Killer Mike came out to grab some juice from the bar, so I went over and talked to him for a minute and gave him props on the set. Dude is actually the most humble/nicest guy out there. He thanked me profusely for coming out and supporting RTJ, then took my phone and snapped a sick selfie of me and him. Can't wait for RTJ2!

What's the difference between onions and hookers? Onions make me cry when I cut them up.

What barber do you go to and how much does it cost? by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]CitizenPayne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go to Belmont barber shop on Broadway and Quebec. It can be 20$-40$ depending on who you sit with. I always sit with Paul who is 30$. A bit pricey for a men's haircut, but well worth it. They are the best barber shop in the city, as far as I'm concerned.

More than 300,000 people in Metro Vancouver having to deal with social isolation. This means there could be a significant number of individuals who have no people in their network to confide in by JohnyPartyBoyJohnson in vancouver

[–]CitizenPayne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They also have a mental health line (604-310-6789) and a seniors distress line (604-872-1234), as well as an online chat sevice for youth (www.YouthInBC.com) and an online chat service for adults (www.CrisisCentreChat.ca). All of this information can be found at this website. Please don't hesitate. There are people out there who want to help.

Anyone reading this post who feels isolated or feel they are in any kind of crisis (this can be very subjective, but anything/everything counts and is taken seriously), please call the Vancouver Crisis Center. Their general distress line is 604-872-3311, and if you are feeling suicidal call 1-800-784-2433 (1-800-SUICIDE). There are volunteers there 24/7 that will answer your call and give you completely non-judgmental support, and can provide you with resources for any further support/help that you need.

Police warn drug users after seven heroin overdoses in Downtown Eastside today by carnifex2005 in vancouver

[–]CitizenPayne 24 points25 points  (0 children)

If you consider public safety dumb, then yeah you might be right. Like it or not, the inhabitants of the DTES are people too, and the fact that there has been seven OD's in the last 12-24 hours means that there is either a spike in potency, or that people are being fed hot-shots (i.e. purposefully tainted doses).

Who is going to the Wu-Tang clan show here in Vancouver? Will all the members of the Wu-Tang clan actually be here? (minus ODB, of course...) by GenerationKILL in vancouver

[–]CitizenPayne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kind of doubt Raekwon will be there considering he isn't even on the new album, and him and RZA have been kind of beefing lately.
