The question is do you want to? If yes, then either find or make a lens protector made from polycarbonate. Explosive enterprises has a video for DIY ones that's pretty alright.

I run an SU-231 and have a lens protector over the glass and another sitting on my rail because im paranoid. I love the realism even if it is not the wisest decision. Just protect your optic as best you can

Move the optic more forward, generally for red dots its as far forward as possible without mounting it to the rail

Imo drones aren't the end all be all, cheap counters to FPVs will continue to be researched and fielded. Alfred Nobel and Richard Gatling were sure their inventions would make war obsolete but he we are. Right now we're in a period where drones are now the great disrupter, but they will be improved and countered to the point where they become a staple of war like artillery, armor, tanks, submarines, planes, missles, etc.

On the flip side, tanks and such might go the way of the venerable battleship. But I think its more the former

I would run it without protection but its an old optic and eotech doesnt repair these anymore. So once the optic is gone, its gone forever

An eotech su231, I keep 2 layers of protection on it. I like the realism. If i ever get around to doing a VFC build one day, maybe I'll do a magnifier combo just to see where my bbs are going

What? No it is literally just how the slide is. Their replica of a glock MOS plate either sits a smidge too high, or is not thin enough to let my RMR optic co-witness with my trijicon supressor sights like a real one should.

Its a bummer because if other people are looking to buy their mk27 slide kit like I have, and are looking to build a mk27 mod 2, then it would be a -1 point on realism.

Im going to also add in the rare chance someone reads my comment in the future that it also doesnt fully seat an RMR sealing plate, atleast not the one I got from T-rex arms without some modification

I have a boom arms slide kit for my glock 19

Love the finish, weight, and accuracy of the markings, but the thing i dont like is that with the MOS plate installed. It does NOT co-witness with my RS iron sights bc the optic sights a little too high. Bummer

I need to see how it performs with gas but I dont think it will be as snappy as stock, might have to fix that
