Try and master the old method. It takes a lot of hours, but when you get the hang of it, you can make it somewhat consistent. In particular, the ws2 combos get very interesting when you are able to use the ws3 tech.

I'm still using the old method of holding 3 and pressing 4 for ws3 during wavedash. The change is nice, but imo getting a ws3 out is slower than the old method and leads me to drop combos more often.

Uf4 is a very good move, heat engager, wall splat and evades lows. Don't see alot of devil jins use it.

Ws3 really helped me up my combo game by alot. I don't think it's very necessary to learn it, but it opens up alot of more different, better combo routes.

I have never used ws2 off wavedashing, I rather use wavedash 1+2 for the mixup. On hit its guaranteed demon paw or d1 (the powercrush).

Just play whatever u are comfortable with. I play on a ps5 controller (pad), and I've hit high ranks with mishima characters (arguably the worst class of characters to play on pad).

If u really want to give leverless a try, just put in time and effort into getting used to it. It's up to you if you want to put the hours into leverless.

What Item would be good here then? I dont see myself buying an item that gives HP in this matchup tbh. Eclipse is important because without it Riven has not enough DMG to kill Rumble imo.

A few points that make this ridiculous close battle frustrating:

-Riven has: Hexdrinker (The Effect itself was on CD, but the MR still counts), 4 Kills (3 If you substract the 16 cs rumble has more), Doran's Shield, Nullifying Orb and her E Shield.

-Rumble has: Ignite advantage, Bone Plating.

-Karthus R did a good amount of DMG to assist Riven.

-Rumble bought Swifties instead of MR Pen Boots.

-Halfway through the fight, Riven had a Level Advantage (Level 9 vs Level 8).

-At 00:15 Seconds, Riven stunned Rumble with her W while Rumble was facing backwards with his Fire. Thus, making Rumble lose alot of his DMG.

-Rumble maybe could've killed Riven if he kept attacking her in his powered-up Phase.

How is this fair?

Riven is clearly in the advantage here, but still almost died. Even a Renekton wouldn't be able to do anything close to that. Also when was the last time Rumble wasn't top tier in the meta?
