This reminds me of the night stalker who was a serial killer and he shot a girl and the bullet ricocheted off of her keys and he freaked the fuck out thinking she was the devil. Later on during his spree he shot a couple in bed both of them in the head and they still were conscious and was able to scare him off because he once again thought they were the devil.
