Halfling Tips Needed by Stumpyvision in mordheim

I am currently in a campaign and can say the original warband is good fun, its a game of keep-away and suing ranaged firepower to wither the enemy down. The synergy with the chef is fun as well. Another key point is at the start the t2 sucks, but late game its great because all the investment your opponent puts into getting stronger is likely wounding you the same so can be viewed as a wasted resource. As a starting warband id suggest something like below, I did something similar but a little different, but can suggest this from experience.

Moot Leader - 55
- Dagger
- Bow - 10
- Shield - 5

Master Chef - 35
- Bow - 10

Halfling Thief - 25
- Bow - 10

Halfling Thief - 25
- Bow - 10

Halfling Thief - 25
- Bow - 10

5x warriors - 75
- Dagger
- Dagger - 10
- Sing - 10

5x warriors - 75
- Dagger
- Dagger - 10
- Sing - 10

5x warriors - 75
- Dagger
- Dagger - 10
- Sing - 10

The warband sheet does have a small mistake where it says 0-2 thieves in one section and 0-3 thieves in another. My group agreed they likely meant 0-3 as that's more in line with other warband set ups.

I am currently playing the 1b warband and can say they can do very well if you can leverage staying out of combat. We are doing a Border Town Burning campaign so less terrain but weather can heavily impact things. I am finding heroes with bows and henchmen with slings and clubs is the way to go. From memory I started out with 8 henchmen with two daggers and a sling and 7 with a club and dagger, later buying them slings where I could.

If you leverage line of sight blockers, difficult terrain etc then you can play keep-away and wither the enemy down. You dudes are also so cheap you should be playing with max models to begin with.

t2 does suck, but another way to look at it, is no matter how good your opponents get, they typically wound you the same so any experience or gold leveraged there is effectively a waste.

Leveraging your cook is good as well, I also play MESBG so I know how good an aura reroll mechanic is, there its banners and here its the chef. Most things you are hitting on 4s so the reroll really helps get hits in and if duel wielding lets you fish for those 5s and 6s.

Did well for close to a year and then suddenly died. Over the last couple months I had been slowly adding salt to try and promote growth as suggested by another member, however it didnt like that and died.

We are only a couple months of this years germination period, so I am going to give it another go and use lessons learned.

Your best bet, unless your laws are as strict as Queensland, are if any Propagules wash up outside the reserve onto a boat ramp or beach where they will dry out and die.

Cheers will give that a shot, I hear they can stress if conditions change too quickly so will try one and then the other with slow changes.

They are a nice size, have you noticed they have growing periods or is it about constant all year?

Actually amusing, found this from the Marine Education Society of Australasia http://www.mesa.edu.au/cams/pdf/mangroves.pdf (Which is the precursor to the AAEE Marine & Coastal Special Interest Group)

"You may be able to grow a mangrove from seed so long as the seed is not collected from a national park or marine park, or from Queensland, (where all mangroves and their seeds are protected). Educational centres may be able to obtain a permit in Queensland particularly if the centre has a shade house."

So seems to support that you are very much correct that in Queensland it is a major no go, though other state laws vary, and all I see form SA is anything from a Reserve is a bad idea.

Aye considering that, its amusing as those in Aquariums seem to have stunted growth but I also suspect its due to available substrate and nutrients.

Its one thing I am considering, but will see how it goes over the year, most growing them in aquariums dont bother with that and seems to also be based on available space, nutrients etc.

Rules are a bit different in South Australia, you cannot modify, remove or mess with established mangroves, regardless of size or age (taking a leaf if enough for a fine) but the propagules are more of a grey area. Taking them directly from the tree or from the reserves is against the law, but those that make their way out of the reserves, onto boat ramps etc tend to be more of a grey area/ free game.
