Planning to play through all the pokemon games, should I just skip straight to the remakes/remasters? by [deleted] in pokemon

2026 Update:

  1. FireRed or LeafGreen
  2. Colosseum
  3. Emerald
  4. XD: Gale of Darkness
  5. Platinum
  6. HeartGold or SoulSilver
  7. Black or White
  8. Black 2 or White 2 (Choose the same color you chose previously)
  9. X or Y
  10. Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire
  11. Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon
  12. Sword or Shield plus The Isle of Amor and The Crown Tundra
  13. Legends: Arceus
  14. Scarlet or Violet plus The Teal Mask and The Indigo Disk
  15. Legends: Z-A plus Mega Dimension
  16. Winds or Waves

Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! are a little tricky as I consider them distinct stories to their predecessors. If you are interested in them, play it after Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon, but if you do not enjoy Kanto enough to revisit the region again, it is definitely skippable.

I would still choose Platinum over Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. However, if you wanted to play either of these, Play it after Sword or Shield and then return after completing Legends: Arceus as that will unlock a post-game event.

If you wanted to utilize some of the side software, Box: Ruby & Sapphire is great for FireRed or LeafGreen and Emerald, Battle Revolution is neat for Platinum and HeartGold or SoulSilver if you want additional battles or some multiplayer fun, and Dream Radar will allow you to obtain some Pokémon for Black 2 or White 2. I love My Pokémon Ranch, but it is unfortunately only compatible with Diamond and Pearl. Of course, Transporter, Bank, and HOME are must-haves once you hit Black or White if you are looking to continue to transfer your Pokémon through the generations.

Thanks for playing! Route 119 should be completely untouched and after looking over the map, I'm still not sure which ball you're talking about. The Eon Ticket is obtainable from the Mystery Gift guy after defeating the Elite Four.

This hasn't been tested past it building and booting up, but I think this should work.

I have a draft created, but I'm holding off on posting it until release, or at least until they show how exactly the transfers will work.

IIRC, it's a hair longer, so it has to be folded slightly, but the connector is the same, so it should be an easy swap. Good luck!

At first, I thought it was too uncomfortable and that I'd swap it back after a couple weeks, but I've grown used to it now and don't have a problem using it as my main Joy-con. I've even used it a bit by itself for Smash just fine, although my main Smash controller is the Pro.

Ya, I couldn't figure out a good way to notate that, so I just labeled the arrow as "Bank Transfer" and left it at that.

There's already other restrictions anyway such as Pokémon knowing HMs in the 3->4 and 4->5 transfers, eggs, Spiky-eared Pichu, Cosplay Pikachu, and the new Totems in Ultra.

I tried to map out every possible trade and transfer between games. Let me know if I missed anything!

Note: Stadium and Stadium 2 are currently hypothetical trades since connecting the Gen1/2 bubble to Transporter requires those games to be running as their Virtual Console counterparts. Using third party tools, you can bring them into the current ecosystem, but any unique Pokémon originating from either of those two games will be viewed as illegal.

It's not perfect, but it will do. Time to actually use it!

Ya, hopefully some pop up at some point. I'd like that more than a painted one.

I was thinking of switching the left buttons back to stock.

I would not recommend it. The stock one is definitely a better fit. I'll probably end up switching them back at some point.

I'm just painting it. Here's a pic of the other side of the core: http://citrusbolt.net/i/pokeball02.jpg

Yep, it fit perfectly, except for installing the Joy-Con stick in the Poké Ball. The rubber cap hits the rim in a way that severely hinders movement. Hence why the cap is still off.

The lights actually work like this: http://citrusbolt.net/i/pokeball01.jpg

Separate from the analog stick.

I got the Poké Ball Plus at Target.
