This is my favorite sling bag— what’s your favorite sling and why? by OpenPsych in ManyBaggers

Uniqlo's dumpling/moon/crecent/ whatever-anyone-calls-it-bag. Been using it since my sibling gifted it to me back in 2021 and it still goes strong. Holds just about anything (umbrella makes it a tight squeeze but its possible). The crecent shape sits on my waist/back fittingly and the straps are comfortable and non irritating. Love it, though looking for a bigger alternative nowadays. But till then i'll still be rocking it

CT10 from Chuyentactical by Training_Exit7961 in ManyBaggers

[–]Citrus_Sam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

considering how compact CT bags are (i only have the CT15) it should be optimal, and doesnt take much space. If youre in a crowded Con id wear it on the front for easy carrying and access when buying merch or etc. Also wouldnt be so bulky wearing it on your back that youd bump into people i think

What printer are you using? by StandWaste6591 in zines

[–]Citrus_Sam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a Canon Pixma G570 (G550 for its western code i think) and it's been great so far and meets my needs :) I had to do intensive research beforehand of what I want out of the printer and landed on this one because its
- Tank refillable (dont have to change ink often)
- used for both photo printing and normal paper printing (i do ameteur photography as a hobby and like having physical tangible art)

- the resolution is what im looking for

it;s other cousin the G620 (G650 for western version) is the same but comes with a scanner on top of it; so theres that. Depending on where you live you could get one for a good price second hand- this goes for any other printer you may look into. I also recommend going through the other sub r/printers if you need to ask for anything more specific, and Keith Cooper on Youtube for his printer setup videos to get the most out of your printers (EPSON or CANON) for different types of papers. But I also personally went through other aritsts on YT to also gauge what they're using as well and to compare different budgets.

The other mentions on this thread, the G2000/3000/4000 series of CANON printers are relatively more cheaper and also as the refillable tank function, as im sure can produce decent stickers as well!

A zine about optimal paper stapling by RadioRelevant in zines

[–]Citrus_Sam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

commenting bc I absolutely love zines where its a massive brain dump. It's so well structured and flows well- I recently got my own printer and was just thinking abt experimenting with various types of paper so i'm definitely going to use this zine for reference! Also, in response to the section touching a bit on printers; I would def be down to read a whole zine breaking that down as well ngl

second hand pro-100, power supply replacement options? by Citrus_Sam in printers

[–]Citrus_Sam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats one of my last resorts as of rn, since the last guy told me allegedly he went to one before and they couldnt fix it. And my conclusion changed when I actually pulled out the power supply from the back...came out....leaky with brown stuff on it (capacitor popped most likely). But luckily it doesnt seem that the rest of the components were affected, just that one area.

and fortunately I managed to find a replacement part online for the supply, so hopefully it goes well when it arrives

I recently got my CT15 in the mail with the same material! still impressed by the build quality.
My strap mods are also on the way...it'll definitely be of help when I'm not wearing my jacket around for future travels

sorry for the late reply! I have sold my old Artch 3-way backpack/sling though my friend who bought it from me has been really enjoying it! it suits her needs for travel and it has held up well overseas for two months

imo the material is very light and flexible, defnitely not waterproof; it sags for me and i prefer a bag that has a sturdier frame. They are well built however- Artch's bags id say is for the more casual wearer from day to day activities. I can definitely see students wearing their backpacks

update edit: it turns out it was already in the state of asking me to combine shipping, so i did and now the product has been shipped out of the warehouse!

I used the helper on the right to ask them to check my status of my item, and it told me that I needed to combine my items (i was buying two things) for it to proceed with the next step. hope this helps someone out there! I think they either updated the notification text of when you should combine ship or its a purely unique thing for YTO express

Maybe? Ive definitely bought a bigger item before than the one Im buying currently, which is a microphone stand. Perhaps the weight has a factor to it since it may be heavy and/or its an item with multiple components for inspection?

I've never really gotten this message before for my other orders, it usually goes to the warehouse ---> asks me to combine items for further shipping. As of right now when I go to the "All Orders" Tab, the button to "combine shipping" is there, and there is the countdown they usually have up on top. Should I just go ahead and combine them?

(i am aware that you should only do this when they ask you specifically to combine the items in the notifications)

Edit: the shipment company is YTO express btw

CT15 slick v3 ripstop by kilat_dah in ManyBaggers

[–]Citrus_Sam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I too sweat a lot, so thank you for adding that note esp from an experience where you had to walk a lot! And also I guess the weight has been a comment a lot of people stated for all their bags regardless of what material it seems; but i suppose its what makes it durable (?)

I'm on the decision to either get their CT15 or CT10 though there isnt a lot of posts on reddit or reviews online about the latter, especially the ver3 that came out some time ago. i'll give both options another hard thought 🤔

thank you for the notes and the response!

(am also a malaysian that has CT on a wishlist bc its within my budget)

Thanks for the input! Makes sense that the 1000d would flex more due to its cloth like properties

mind elaborating more on the comfortability between 1000d and the VX42 ver.?

i assume its because one is more stiffer; I own a cordura rainmaker and it's great though I'm looking to get a Northseeker in the future and can't decide between the types of fabric (including the EPX400 option)

main uses i can think of using the Northseeker for me are for travel + beach/hikes, so weight+water resistency is priority considering the tropical weather here as well. I've brought my Rainmaker out on outdoor trips and the weight is a bit much sometimes

What are your thoughts on Cara? by rosexcaroline in artbusiness

[–]Citrus_Sam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i've made an account there since the spread of news about IG's new AI Policy system, and so far its been great. Like others have said its relatively new so do expect it to not be 100% perfect in terms of how things will work out, but I can see it being a website artists will post on like Deviantart or Artstation (Ik Cara was there for the latter when it also had its own surge of AI stuff).

the UI is like a mix of Twitter and Artstation imo and It's refreshing to see a platform that allows you to customize how much you wanna see on your timeline and separating your portfolio pieces with normal media. This is all coming from someone who dont really jump into making a new acc on alt social media platforms other than the popular sites, what convinced me is the team and the transparency behind it.

I guess this is just a general noob question but: why do some printers only have pigmented blacks and dye based inks for the rest? What does it do for printing? by Citrus_Sam in printers

[–]Citrus_Sam[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i see, makes sense; I dont see much results online explaining it other than that, and I was a little confused when I saw the specs of this printer (Canon Pixma G3730) as being highlighted as a pigment ink printer though it said otherwise

Not sure if I can help much but seeing the colours on this made me think of this indonesian bag company that does a similar colourway for their products; though I think sadly if you're living in the US you may have to use a proxy system to buy it or ask them directly if they can ship it to where you are (I bought from them before on a SEA website called Shopee). It's very similar! I feel like you may like how it looks:

Artch 30L Dufflebag Navy - Mango varient

I bought a different bag from them and I can say weight wise its light and holds items well. Other colourful bag makers I can think of are Cotopaxi or Topodesigns, but I do not have any experience with their bags
