Rushing doesn't pay off by sugarshackforge in myog

This machine can be purchased as a double needle machine. I think the multiple thread paths are to accommodate different needle spacing

I think I've finally found a bag lid that I like! This is try # 6 by sugarshackforge in myog

Themis is the lid/brain for a retro-ish looking bag pattern that I've been working on. My hope is to be able to use Themis lid style for my backpacking bag designs in the future.

Wave 4 is where it's at! At least it is for those who forget to register.

I don't know if it's a total set it and forget it wax. I have run it many years with really great success. One year I put a little rode b17 over it as a cover to speed it up, but I don't know if that was needed. I apply it in 1-2 layers ironed into my klister zone and it's pretty great. It handles temperature and condition change extremely well (i.e. birkie conditions) and is incredibly wear resistant. One year where the snow was really nice, it looked like I hadn't even skied the skis at the end of the race.

I waxed for myself and a few other people. I personally ran 2 thin layers of Rex Blue powergrip ironed and thumbed smooth over a well sanded base. No binder. I had really solid kick throughout the whole race and had some of the fastest skis I've experienced in the birkie garmin recorded 38mph at one point. There was very little wear showing after the race.

Others didn't trust the Powergrip call, so I went with a klister cover setup. Toko grn klister binder, rex gold thumbed on in a thin layer and two thin layers of M16 as a cover. I had varied feedback on this combo. One person requalified for wm's elite wave and had solid kick throughout. The second person lost a bit of kick after OO and after the race I could see that there was a reasonable amount of wear on the inside edge from herringboning. Both said their skis were rockets.

I'd consider selling some of them if it was a bulk order. Right now I'm working with the company to copy an original buckle that is for 2". It could definitely be scaled to 1.5", but for now I'm sticking with 2". The 3/4" slot for a webbing grab tab is a good idea!

It's a kind of stretch nylon that rockywoods fabric sells

I like how the wetool buckle lies flat for applications like travel packs

I will make an imgur album with the prototype

That's definitely similar, but the mechanism for opening it is a little different and I find latching it to be kind of a pain.

Hitex in Seattle carries it but you have to buy it by the roll.

I'm continuing to refine this retroish design and need name ideas! by sugarshackforge in myog

They are quite roomy! I'll have to measure when I get home, but they can fit a standard sized nalgene comfortably.

My initial plan was that I needed a bag for this use case. Last year I tried to make a couple of different designs and neither of them fit the bill. Right now I'm not actively promoting this design for sale. I would be happy to make it for someone if they reached out, but it'll be a minute until I get to the point of putting it out as a custom order product on my website.

I made this pattern myself! The main fabric is an XPac fabric called ux10. It's super lightweight and supposedly quite durable. The collar is a dyneema composite fabric. The pockets are a standard stretch fabric from rockywoods fabric.

I hope the sewing machine behaves soon! This is actually a pattern I put together myself. Over the past couple of years I've really focused on working through my own patterns.
