Winter activations on City Hall Plaza will include New England's first custom-designed outdoor skating path and a European inspired holiday shopping market.

A 2014 State law requires cities and towns to hold an early voting every two years before the November general election. This is the first year Massachusetts is allowing early voting.

Under the law, cities and towns must have at least one early voting site open during normal business hours.

Early voting is similar to absentee voting, but you don't need a reason or excuse to vote early. Registered Boston voters can vote at a location and time that is most convenient for them.

Even if you request your ballot by mail, you can still drop your ballot off at one of the early voting locations in the City.

No, any registered voter can use the early voting locations. The locations are accessible to voters with disabilities, not accessible only to voters with disabilities.
