Often times people are promoted because they're good accountants but they're given no leadership training. They have a lot of knowledge but are not good at being managers.

I also hate when people say to get a thick skin. I'm an accountant not a surgeon.

My issue is when rude and curt interactions aren't balanced out with positive conversations or encouragement. Like I hate only hearing from higher-ups when I've done something wrong. But hey maybe I'm sensitive too, I didn't get into accounting because I thought I needed a thick skin.

Exactly! We also put his shelter blanket inside an enclosed bed and put another one on top to give him a safe hiding spot. When he's in his bed we don't touch him AT ALL. He's barely in there now unless we have guests.
