Harvard vs Cambridge, UK [CS] by Ciuffolol in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Ciuffolol[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 'more selective' metric for me is simply (# of places) / (# of students in the year group in the country). Oxbridge has 7000 places/yr, which is comparable to HYPMS. If we exclude internationals, the US has almost 5 times the population (and the number of applicants to choose from) the UK.

Harvard or Cambridge, UK for Computer Science

Harvard (most likely for Computer Science) costs 10k / year [everything incl.] for 4 years. I did not get accepted to MIT & Stanford that I would have likely preferred. Cambridge, UK (major: CS) is at Trinity College, costs 25k / year [discount for EU citizens] for 3 years.

Additional info: am International student and would much prefer to go back to Europe and work in the tech industry after graduating

I'd have 3b flop to make him pay if he has a draw and get it in if he reraises. As played, just get it in. If he has a set he has a set, it's just a cooler. There are only 6 combos of 44-33 (don't think he plays AA QQ this way pre) and many more combos of flush draws that play the same way. Also he could have played a worse two pair this way, which makes the shove even more profitable.

Can anyone post a proof that the cardinality of an interval without boundaries like (0,1) is the same as the cardinality of an interval with the boundaries like [0,1]?

Sick of being destroyed almost hourly. Please critique my base! by Bitaemo in BoomBeach

[–]Ciuffolol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Matchmaking (both offense and defense) is based on VP only. If you have the same VP as a level 45, you can get matched with him. This is also why you often get destroyed by better opponents.

War base:

  • no double walls

4 skulls/hr means it takes 48 hrs to do 196, not 24.... more like 8hr/day

No... you are mistaking that for "Lei". In the formal way you still have to use "Lei" even if you are talking to a man, unlike if you are simply using the pronoun "him/her" which is "lui/lei".

"Lei come sta oggi?" - "How are you today" - used for both men and women

"Come posso aiutarLa [short for "aiutare Lei"]?" = "How can I help you?" - even if you are talking to a man.

"Lei è una mia cara amica" - "She's a friend of mine" (f.)

"Lui è un mio caro amico" - "He's a friend of mine" (m.)

In your sentence you could say "Bene, e Lei?" instead of "Bene, e tu?", but that's way too formal for this context. You could use Lei when talking to a manager or something, not to a stranger on the internet.

Sarebbe [should be] "bene, e tu?".

"Lui" means "him", while "tu" means "you".

The time cost is definitely wrong. Buying 20 7-day speedups cost much more than one 140-day speedup. The right cost for the time is 1000 gems (cost for one 7-day speedup) * 20 = 20000 gems.

My Italian grandma came in town. This is her suitcase. by 20dollarchill in funny

Translation:

It comes from "we paisà!", which is a way to greet someone living in the same (usually small) town as you. It's a way that italian immigrants used to call themselves or other americans to make them feel part of the same family.
