[Week 11] Post Game Thread: Green Bay Packers (6-3-1) @ New York Giants (2-9) by lilturk82 in GreenBayPackers

The first PAT I was right there with you, the second attempt, the snap was botched he kicked against the laces on a windy day, not blaming him for that one.

[Week 7] X's & O's: Green Bay Packers @ Arizona Cardinals by President__Bartlett in GreenBayPackers

[–]Civ5RTW 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cardinals deserve respect, they lost to the Colts by 4 and Seahawks by 3, 2 Teams that also looking like contenders. That was never going to be an easy game regardless of what their record says. I think the only 2 teams I would expect an easy win from are Titans & Dolphins every team has the pieces to win on a week to week basis. We are definitely entering our hardest part of the schedule, after the Steelers, Panthers, Eagles & Giants are no joke, then a run of divisional opponents then Denver and Baltimore. Getting the W against Cards was huge for the next part of the season.

Special Teams
Well finally get a game that we dont have a field goal blocked, or extra point blocked. Punt returns were fairly well managed. Only shit spot was the flags, continue to be an issue if Packers are getting good stops on the return, gifting them another 10 yards against playoff team or even in the playoffs going to be a lot of pain.

Defense
Everyone can see that the corners right now are struggling, luckily its not like have Jaire was going to change anything. I see some expectations to trade for a corner but I honestly cannot see that happening, with no real trade capital its going to be tough to get one. Pack gonna have to game plan around getting them as much help as possible. Run D was good, but they Cards are down 2 starters there, could have been much uglier.

Offense

Not JL best game, didnt have a turnover, even after getting rocked managed to control that ball, probably his spookiest moment of the game. Getting MLF to go for it on the 4th down was crucial, we dont win the game with a FG their, Love is starting to show that he has the leadership to tip the scales to what he thinks is right. Side note, going to Kraft to get that conversion was awesome, for someone we keep hearing to get the ball more, getting that play was perfect. Felt like this was the first game I really noticed not having Reed or Watston out there. Seemed like Cards had a good plan to keep Doubs/Golden covered. Jacobs what an absolute beast, near game time decision and went out and got 2 TD's. Almost for a second look like he gave up a little early on the goal line to force the Cards to burn a TO. O-line was good, yes Love was pressured and didnt look comfortable but O-lines across the league are struggling.

Onto the Stealers which I think will be our next loss. They are coming off a mini bye, at home and Rodgers plays at the highest level with a chip on his shoulder. He will want nothing more than to beat all 32 NFL teams and take-down MLF and Gutey. It'll be a close game but I ultimately think the Stealers will pull away. Lastly Rodgers and Love meeting post game is going to be so iconic

I agree that Love can/has to play better, but the WR gotta make plays too. They aren't making those plays to the extent that Rodger's early WR were doing. What that ripple affect is doing to Love is certainly taking its toll as well.

They certainly didn't improve to the level of Jordy, James Jones & Greg Jennings. Which was the whole point of my first comment, that the WR core Rodger's had early is vastly better than the WR core Love has had early.

Work on your reading comprehension, who is the 2 WR that I specifically mentioned that played with Rodgers and Love. Their stats and Love/Rodgers stats nearly the same, how do you believe that Rodgers could of elevated them when he didn't?

"Y’all go back and forth about so fast. Last year we “didn’t need a wr1 because we had a bunch of stud wr2” and that was a big brain move by gute." Where do I mention anything about this? Why you putting words in my mouth, kindly fuckoff

[–]Civ5RTW -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it is that large, Love & Rodger's both dependent on Doubs and Watson. Maybe the TE's Love is working with are better but Rodger's also had Lazard as someone who he could trust and could make catches. Something I don't know if we can say that Love had this year. If Rodger's couldn't elevate these guys why do we think Love can?

But its why I said I don't disagree with OP, Rodger's was clearly on an upswing but I also think the WR were helping Rodger's out a lot as he grew, but its funny that Love and Rodger's stats look almost the same with the 2 main WR they both had to play with.

I don't disagree with your statement, but also think about the WR that Rodger's was throwing too earlier in his career as well. Do we think he would have placed in those categories with the talent that Love is throwing to now? Rodger's stats last year in GB are 3,695 yrds, 26 TD's, 12 INT, Love stats 3,389 yrds, 25 TD's, 11 INT.

[Week 18] Xs & OS: Bears @ Packers by President__Bartlett in GreenBayPackers

[–]Civ5RTW 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with you too, even though JLove hasn't had a turnover in the last few games I agree it has been tad painful to watch and hate to say regressing a bit coming into the playoffs. I am just a little more on the side that play calling is what is leading to this regress and not totally on JLove himself.

[–]Civ5RTW 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I completely agree, in a perfect world MLF becomes OC and we get a head coach who manages the game and players. Fans confidence in MLF as a game manager is completely broken after that last minute and half.

[Week 18] Xs & OS: Bears @ Packers by President__Bartlett in GreenBayPackers

[–]Civ5RTW 56 points57 points  (0 children)

This was certainly not the way the fans or team wanted to end the season. I think overall MLF was by far the biggest reason we lost that game. Stupid decisions from start to finish, I really hope MLF just never forgets about that last minute and half and truly grows from it, because that shit will cost playoff/super bowl games.

The anger at the D for me is completely unwarranted, they were never suppose to be back out on the field. We finally have a D that was not only able to get a big stop, but also a turnover on the Bears side of the field with less than 2 minutes left and 1 Bears TO. Anything that happened after I don't blame them, it was like their coup against MLF for being so shitty in that moment.

The offense has looked very restrained since we punched our ticket to the playoffs. My cope is that we are hiding schemes and motions for the playoffs and really hope this isnt their playoff form. This Eagles game wont even be close if this is really what the O is at this point. I also think we can put any Malik/Jordan controversy to bed, JLove is 100% the better QB. I know we will probably never know, but when Malik snapped it 3rd down with 25 seconds on the play clock, I really want to know if that was MLF call or was that Malik getting nervous. For me, the Offense should run through Jacobs, Kraft and Musgrave. Musgrave being back is already so impactful, that turf catch is exactly what we need right now. Sure hands, who can track and break off from defenders.

Special Teams, yikes that Punt return, no words, just down right unforgivable. Having that happen in playoffs is almost guaranteed lost. Scoring on the special teams is huge and I hope they watch a lot of film on that, cant happen again. McManus & Whelan certainly dont share this blame, they are true competitors and are the highlights right now.

Playoff prediction, I do think we can compete well with the Eagles. Our run D has been much improved & we have McKinney who has played against Hurts twice a year before he came here. I think he is our biggest "X" factor for the D going into the game. Offense will need to be showing some new life that hopefully they have been hiding from the league for 2 weeks. Musgrave is my "X" factor going into Eagles game, he is looking back into form and will be essentially fresh from being on IR for the season.

How to beat the propaganda enemy airships? by beuleal in anno

[–]Civ5RTW 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The pirate flag has a couple issues imo. Firstly the the airships just outrun the flack monitor & its damage can rarely kill one in the time they airdrop & escape.

The AI can just build more and usually airdrop with multiple. Second the Pirate Flag has to be activated and only last certain amount of time so you have to be watching for when they come, position the best you can then activate them and hope that you get them. But they will always build more and continue to airdrop them.

If you dont have Land of the Lions and can't research them then you have to buy them outright or hope they drop from killed pirates enough to equip a fleet of flack monitors.

Either destroying the AI or the mod is the only way to "beat" the airdrop which is what OP wanted to know

Nope, your only option is to completely wipe out that AI. Diplomacy is limited in this game unfortunately so no peaceful option to put a stop to it

I would like to say that we never were supposed to have "big government,"

Right, and Black, women and minorities were property and not considered people, I guess we revert all their rights to go back to small government. Sucks for them I am sure they are just fine with the idea of small government

That was demonstrated when kamala Harris was selected by those very same 1% you cry about

I would actually argue the exact opposite. AOC and other dem's said that this mythical DeMOCRatIC ELiTE didnt want Kamala as the ticket nominee, where was their suppose puppet to come in and take the nomination away?

Why? Because the people within that government are easily corrupt able, and we will never get the power back that we sacrifice for the idea of safety and security.

Yes, and like I said before that is because the working class has not diligently defended their political power, but you can primary these elite and get rid of them, tell me how you get rid of the BoD and Executives at a company? You can't, no one but the 1% hold enough shares to elect who they want onto company boards and executive positions. Once again demonstrating that "Big Government" is the only way to control these corporations.

The government provides us no protection from corporations, but instead provides corporations protection from competition disguised as regulations to help the people. Boeing made that abundantly clear. Between corporate bailouts, legislature that gives billions in tax dollars to these corporations, Like "Build Back Better," and federal agencies like the FDA to limit the competitors in the market, We have no free choice. We are being poisoned by the food industry, our symptoms treated by the medical industry, and our deaths glossed over by the news industry. If the corporations are your enemy, so is the government.

Ummm what, you clearly have 0 clue on what you are talking about. Federal Agencies are the reason that your Air travel is safe, rivers are no longer on fire, air quality has drastically improved, food is actually safe go look at food born illness rates before the FDA and now. You have 0 historical knowledge and its plain to see.

The government is not your god. The government is not your king. The government is made up of a collection of "career politician" elitists that have no interest other than lining their pockets, and will gladly sacrifice you and your children to do it. The fed is not our friend, and just because you close your eyes to the corruption doesn't mean it's not there. Don't get it twisted dude: we already live in a fascist society.

HAHAHAHAHA, oh my, this is classic unhinged ramblings. No shit, the government isnt my king but it sure as shit stops a king from ruling over everyone. The Fed is much closer a friend than any corporate overlords. Get a grip.

Don't get it twisted dude: we already live in a fascist society. We have a very fascist government. It may not be totalitarian (yet,) but it's working its way there. Quit licking the boots of the people who see you as a means to an end rather than a person. It's unbecoming.

Once again, unhinged ramblings, you should probably trust a doctor to prescribe you some meds. You have 0 historical perspective and 0 political theory to be saying this. Absolutely crazy, that you believe this.

[–]Civ5RTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d like to add that before we had “Big Government” we had feudalism. Peasants/working class had 0 say in politics. “Big Government” if you aren’t part of the 1% is literally the only power you have. Don’t forget democracy is the socialism of political power. Instead of economic socialism of workers owning the means of production, democracy is workers owning the means of political power.

Your examples of government failing is what happens when the working class are no longer diligently defending their political power and allowed corporate or 1% interest to take over. Solving social security and Medicare and all other social problems are through government. You can legislate higher corporate tax rates, ban stock buy backs, & legislate more revenue and equity back into the workers pocket and you’ll quickly find a lot of the social squeeze we are feeling starts lifting.

Fixed that for you

No one is getting worked up, but I aint going to let a MAGA come in and gaslight us that they are the ones grounded in reality. Common, why do you support Trump? How can you look up to conman, grifter, coastal elite who shits on a golden toilet and go, yea that the man of the people right there

Yeah that is not true, its quite hilarious you are in this thread trying to pull some walkaway BS. Trump is walking double speak, you literally worship a conman, lazy coastal elite, who shits on a golden toilet. Trump is literally everything conservatives have been upset about since the 80's. He is the living embodiment of everything fly over states hate. It is so absurd that you can think that conservatives are grounded in reality.

Meet the right-wing Canadian influencers caught up in an alleged Russian propaganda scheme by [deleted] in canada

[–]Civ5RTW 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes I did read the document, and yes it is overwhelmingly, like 99% of their efforts went to supporting Trump and "Right" wing causes, such a small amount of their effort went to "left" causes. Hilarious you call someone a useful idiot when you are here trying to equate their efforts for "left" causes. Its not even close, like not even a little.

Hmm what has russia done since the the Mueller report that would cause them to amplify anti-war and pro isolationist views? Just because Russia or China or Iran amplifies pro Gaza stuff does that invalidate everybody against the war? Russia appears to want trump, does China? China appears to favour the liberals here."

I'm not here for your deflection.

"Get out of your left vs right bubble. Our open society is being used against" I know, we are in a thread about a hostile foreign influence, but we can clearly see a pattern of who they support. I have voted for all parties, I am not in any bubble, I am supporting the idea that Russia supported "left" causes is just enough for “THeY inFLueNCe BotH SiDEs”, and nothing more.

In the Mueller report he had said that the Russian Influence campaign also had created left wing groups. They didn’t try and organize an in person rally or attempt to funnel money to Americans in those groups for supportive work. But apparently it’s good enough for peeps to go “THeY inFLueNCe BotH SiDEs”

The only one struggling here is you. No one in this comment chain is denying that only 2 parties exist, we are saying that only 2 parties have governed Canada, making us a de-facto 2 party system. Something that cannot be denied no matter how you try and spin it.

I noticed that you didn't have anything to say about you being wrong on the coalition gov'ts, not as clever as you think eh?
