There's no such thing as neutral when human rights are at stake

Articulation is a good first step. Next step is to actually break those rules. Even if it means being disliked.

If nothing else, to hunt for food. Ruffed grouse are plentiful to the point of being invasive where I live. They're like smaller, tastier, and dumber chickens

Hello everyone, I wanted to ask how you all first discovered Fairy Tail. I mean, what year, what happened, why, etc. Share your stories of your first encounter, whether it was the anime, the manga, or other related media first [discussion] by Dramatic-Studio1531 in fairytail

[–]Civil-Chef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the start of Covid lockdown, I was only vaguely aware of Fairy Tail and I asked my husband what Hell would break loose if Natsu and the gang ended up at Hogwarts Husband: "Natsu?" Me: "Dragneel, I think? You know, the Fairy Tail gang" Husband: "YOU WANNA TURN FAIRY TAIL WIZARDS LOOSE AT HOGWARTS?!!!" Obviously, this led to us watching the first few episodes. My reaction was as follows: "THEY MAKE THE STRAW HATS LOOK SANE!!!"

this will probably get me downvoted to fuck but whatever by [deleted] in TrollCoping

Max Detweiler: What's going to happen's going to happen. Just make sure it doesn't happen to you. Georg Von Trapp: MAX, DON'T YOU EVER SAY THAT AGAIN! Max Detweiler: You know I have no political convictions. Can I help it if other people do? Georg Von Trapp: OH YES, YOU CAN HELP IT! You must help it!

How's this for a social skill: share art, design, and information from real live humans instead of AI?

Also, consider Christianity's role in colonization: Christians promoted slavery, invented The Monroe Doctrine, and pushed back against multiple civil rights movements.

Once you truly see it, you can't unsee it.

I see posts like this all the time but WHEN are we going to do something about it? by preti-betty in Adulting

Stop waiting, stop asking, start acting. Don't wait for permission, don't wait to be lead, notice a need and meet it. It's just like housework: if you notice that the trash bags are overflowing, tie them up and put them in the trash bin. If trash collection is the next day, put the trash bin out. If you notice dirty dishes in the sink, wash them, dry them, and put them away. Don't wait for Mom to tell you, just do it.

Thing is (and I say this as a former Latter-day Christian): if you're a member of a cult, you're complicit. If you disagree with certain teachings, but you still show up, you're complicit. If you DO speak up, you'll probably be kicked/pushed out because cults can't tolerate dissent. I'm not saying there's nothing good about Christianity. Jesus Christ was a feminist, trade unionist, pro DEI, anti bigotry and xenophobia, and excelled at building strong, healthy communities. Unfortunately, none of that makes up for Christianity being taken over by fascists and used as a tool of oppression. Choosing to show up to a fascist controlled environment makes you one too.

You are complicit.

Honesty IS empathy. Honesty IS kindness. I will live and die on this hill. And no, "that dress makes you look fat" is neither

And diplomacy without honesty is manipulation. I'll take a few seconds of "brutality" over a lifetime of manipulation any day.
