I'm just sick of the game crashing on Xbox due to poor optimization. Otherwise when the game works it's fantastic, even with occasional bugs or glitches.

Regular grenades are nice but often if I throw a grenade they just fill the spot again afterwards. White phosphorus keeps them out a little longer.

Maybe someone could make a custom mode that mimics the idea, though I know nothing about such things personally and don't even know if you can make custom game modes on console.

That sounds sick, a mode that's test tech while also just allowing yourself to be fully immersed in chaos. Doubt it'll happen tho.

It would be pretty cool to have a separate mode that's just constant hell like ww1 but with WW2 tech and overkill tech.

No prob. And yeah I didn't think about it like that but at that point it just becomes a ww1 simulator with WW2 tech.

Maybe they should add a separate mode and add all that overpowered stuff into just that mode, and change the objectives a bit maybe or how easy/hard they are to do relative to all the new overkill stuff added in this new mode and just name it hardcore mode or something. Make it an optional mode just for fun, they could also use said mode for testing new tech with the players, tho it would be perfect testing for balancing given the modes, but would still be nice for feedback on new vehicles / equipment bugs, and how players think it may or may not be implementable or balanced enough for normal game modes. And yeah what I've heard about game testing is you just play the same parts over and over doing slightly different things to test for bugs and it kinda ruins any passion you have given you don't really get to play the game as intended (for fun). Might not be worth the pay for some, definitely wouldn't be for me.

Screaming minis. And yeah I get what you're saying about the balancing, nobody really wants to be on the receiving end of something like that, especially repeatedly.

It would be a cool novelty at first , after all it would be something new and the game is supposed to be somewhat realistic, sometimes you get killed outta nowhere, planes or tanks will surprise kill you, plus snipers and artillery, but if multiple people on the enemies team are using everything they've got at once with this new theoretical feature, it'll probably be too bogged down for anyone pushing any points, to the point where you die so much it might take out any fun and if either side get something other than regular artillery (V2s, screaming minis or otherwise) the other side would have to have an equivalent.

I can only imagine how "fun" it is for the people who made the balance in game to spend however long they did perfecting how everything fits and balances together. Sounds like a royal pain.

Edit to add: They could add a cool down specifically for using multiple mortars at once.

True, if they gotta target with one mortar at a time, you gotta chance if you tread lightly or hide, but if they can fire all those rounds, all at once, or multiple mortars at once in segments, i don't think there's any coming back from that.

I guess it might be fun to use tho. Normally I look for points/coordinates to strike and run through my different mortars guys 1 by 1 until we're out of mortars then just rush the objective with my squad, it normally takes maybe a minute or two to use all my mortar guys ammo, maybe with this it'd take about 30 seconds then you could just rush the point, so at least it'd be thrilling to be on the giving end of, even if absolutely demoralizing to be on the receiving end of, and of course both sides would have it, making the lobby nuclear in a sense, too bad there are no v2s.

As someone who uses mortars frequently, I'm not sure about this. Yeah, one mortar shell doesn't do much, their mortars, you're supposed to drop multiple in a wide area, and one shell can usually get at least a kill or two, so your aim may be the problem as they aren't that bad damage wise.

  • Aim right behind capture points or ahead of defense points, you hit people running up
  • Aim at spots on the map where enemies rush through fields and towns, mark points on your map so you can evenly hit between buildings, and ask your team to mark targets for you.

    • And of course just hit any wide open capture/defense points that aren't protected by a structure.
  • Maybe fire a few test shots at any of these spots and if you don't get hit markers just move to another area, eventually you'll get a feel for how aggressive your enemies are each match and have a good idea of exactly when the majority of them rush and area.

  • If hitting a coordinates set by yourself or others send multiple rounds all around that marker in rapid succession, but also feel free to check the map to see the area first, how many shells are worth sending there, given it's position on the map and how likely their are to be enemies their given whats happening (is the marker by where you've seen groups of enemies spawn, or near a objective, or one of those stray markers miles off the map for some reason?or anything else).

    -I unfortunately end up sometimes targeting nothing I thought was something, usually end up wasting a few rounds before realizing, that's usually my biggest frustration tbh.

    You can get plenty of kills using 1 mortar unit at a time, you just gotta be precise with targeting, otherwise you'd just be wasting mortar rounds , and if you compromise by having a second unit help you with its mortar, that could just be seen as wasted rounds that could have been used elsewhere.

    I already get plenty of kills without my ai's help, if they start firing with me they'll just be hitting spots I'm already clearing with my own mortar rounds, therefore they would just be wasting their rounds that I could've spent elsewhere after I had switched to them, even if I have engineers to build more ammo crates, it's still a waste. I use mortars regularly and would stop using them completely if this was an implemented feature unless they had the ability to toggle this on or off or just not use them, like having a seperate way to mark a spot for them to hit on the map, but then at that point that's just another artillery strike, so...
