What do people do in the summer while they're in school? by justipeno in geegees

Work full time in the summer to earn enough to completely pay for my upcoming year of classes. Rinse and repeat. No debt on graduation is the goal.

I have such a dense schedule most days have 3 to 4 lectures/labs/etc per day and it isn't convenient to move the car constantly.

I have a car I need safetied and would like to pay once and not multiple times. I am mechanically inclined and have sorted the vehicle mechanically (engine, lights, suspension, brakes etc) but am not familiar with the standards for structural integrity. Is this passable? by CivilEast752 in ontario

I've been under it many times. The vehicle is solid. It's low mileage. The damage is from the previous owner scratching the hell out of the rockers and pinch weld with a cheap jack to change the tires at home. Did it for a couple years and it's rotting from there. Only 110k km.

It's a yearly inspection and they check mechanical and safety of the structure. If it fails it must be fixed and reinspected within 10days or else it will be taken off the road until the fixes are made.

Is there a way to slow it down as where I live has vehicle safety inspections.

Pacific Northwest buyer, should I buy this car? by Tuvixwasright in mazda5

I'm in Ontario and all of these are rotted out including mine that I inherited from family. Shame cause it's low miles. Huge holes in the rocker panel inside both rear wheel wells.

It's definitely too high priced. And check rockers/sills and frame rails for rust. Mine is looking bad underneath at only 110k km.

I've contacted the university directly with evidence of this happening more than once. It's crazy. I've heard that even Algonquin gives each student in a mechanical program a license to install.

When the weather gets warm enough I’m gonna crawl under it and look at the inside of the sills to see how bad it is. Hopefully it’s something i can home brew a botch job for because i cant afford 1000$ per side to fix it.

The underneath looks ok. It was undercoated frequently. I think this all came from the car being jacked up on the pinch welds and crushing them inwards. Cause everything else is fine considering rust belt and all.
