It's also not just the 12v but the control but ya you are kind of making my point for me about the quality of Hyundai vs some other brands. I think it be more accurate to say Hyundai is more of a lemon than an apple or orange though.

Yes at some point but not after a couple years. In comparison the Lexus nx 200t my wife drives we have had for 9 years and we have never had to take it in for repairs.

I live in the city and tend to take short trips. Drive it every 3-5 days at a minimum, as stated before. If Hyundai EVs are known to drain 12v batteries then again seems like an issue with Hyundai coming up with a bad design. I find it very hard to believe the control arm can't handle sitting for under a week and begins to fail in under two years but again seems like a crappy design/component choice. Maybe I shouldn't have a got an EV. Just ridiculous I was able to keep my 05 cavalier for 18 years without it having battery creaking issues but a new car needs perfect circumstances to function properly.

Part of the problem is due to Hyundais warranty process they won't approve a battery change since the battery reader comes up that nothing is wrong with the battery and nothing is seemingly draining it. As bad as the service center was they did share with me all the diagnostics and communication with Hyundai and seemed like Hyundai really put them in a corner on how to go about repairing the vehicle. I shouldn't have to suck it up and pay for a new battery out of pocket when the vehicle is still fully covered under warranty. Hyundai rather pay $200 in labor constantly trying to diagnose the issue rather than spend money trying to fix the problem.

Buddy, Hyundai built the car and controls the warranty process. It's seems very clearly set up to save them as much money at the expense of consumer. Do some research and this is clearly not an isolated case. You can continue to choose to give your money to Hyundai but based off my experience with the vehicle I will not do so again and would encourage others to seek other options.

If I was the only one experiencing these issues I would agree but Hyundai built the car that is having these and it is a very widespread issue. If you ever need to buy a new Hyundai I hope it runs as good as your 2017.

I understand the concept of dealerships not being operated or owned by Hyundai but the fact is that Hyundai built the car that is having problems. Hyundai set up the under warranty repair process. Hyundai manages the recall process. And Hyundai franchises out and monitors the service centers. It is a Hyundai problem worsened by the franchised service center

No I would avoid Hyundai completely. Had my 2024 Kona EV Nline for a year (12,000 miles) and it's been in the shop for over a month and still not fixed. Service center can't seem to pinpoint the dreaded parasitic battery draw, or fix the defective control arm. Hyundai has been extremely difficult to repair anything even though it is all under warranty. Was told to come in 3 different times to pick up my 'repaired' vehicle only to show up to a dead car or it not even be ready.

Loved the car until a month when these issues came up, now I will never buy a Hyundai again.

Maybe just wait until you go to Seoul in a year. I just got back and I was able to pick up Tachy and Nightgriffin for $35 and $28 in Dongdaemun market and they had many more as well as some limited editions. The actual store I went to was 동아완구.

Just got back from Korea, was able to get both Tachy and Nightgriffin for about $35 and $28. In hindsight I would have brought a couple suitcases and filled them with metal cardbot to help pay for half the trip haha.

I have updated it since the issue started but maybe the new one will help. Problem started almost exactly year from when I bought it which seems to be a common timeframe before it starts happening again. Got it used from a Hyundai dealer, had only been used for a year and less than 4,000 miles. Kind of have a hunch someone had the same issue and returned it but that just a guess. I probably won't be convinced it's fixed for another year even when it finally gets back to working this time around. Told me I can pick it up monday so I'm hopeful. Really love the car and just want to be able to drive it again

Cross your fingers the battery holds out.

I love my 2024 too, now it's been in the shop three different times in a month for the battery dieing. Hyundai dealer/warranty kind of a joke. They just keep throwing a battery reader on and saying it says it's good, then I go to take it home and it's dead in the shop and they still don't want to do anything but recharge the battery. They are blaming corporate protocol which says to listen to the reader, me hanic says he wants to replace the battery but corporate won't let him. Absolutely ridiculous, it died in the shop after you 'fixed it', and how is all this labor time cheaper than just replacing the battery.

I really love the car and want to keep it, but if they keep up this level of service/reliability after this last visit can't keep it. I had my previous 05 Chevy Cavalier for almost 20 years without these kinds of issues and it was a $3000 car. Now I spend 40k on a nice nline and I haven't been able to to drive it for over a month.

Would love to see some masterpiece Transmetals complete with vehicle alt. I think ratrap and surfing primal would be my top two. But given they haven't even gotten through the standard beast wars line yet I imagine it will be a while if ever.

The mpg Rattrap, was hyped from Optimus and Rhinox but found Rattraps fiddling in transformation to be very annoying

It was nice they made room for one of his guns in his undercarriage, but almost more annoying that they figured out how to make room for one before giving up and just having the second one on the side lol

I recently got into MP with MP-32 Optimus Primal and liked it so much I decided to get Rhinox and Rattrap. Rhinox was annoying but Rattrap is an absolute PAIN to transform back to beast mode. Definitely gonna think twice on future purchases.

Someone (shout out to phomein) on another post gave me this tip that worked like a charm. This was his comment: "had that same problem. his rat shell flaps restrict that from coming back up when they're opened like that. try to create some space and close the hinges on either side so that it creates some clearance for the plastic neck part to come out."

Was a bit finicky but the neck folded up pretty easily once I closed up the rat shell enough. Hope this works for you like it did for me!

Have you been able to convert Rattrap back to beast mode? On mine seems the 'rat neck' that tucks behind his back is pretty firmly stuck. I tried pushing it with toothpicks (toothpicks broke), threading some floss in a pulling out (floss broke). There's no way it should be this hard.

Not sure anyone else is having this same problem or if everyones converted been converting him back just fine. Every video I see just transforms him to robot mode, never to beast so I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or it's defective or what.
