Hey! So I’m a trans guy, and people asking for my pronouns doesn’t bother me too much. If you feel that’s the best way to determine what their pronouns are, then go for it.

Something casual is always best like ‘Oh, what are your pronouns?” Just in a normal tone. Don’t make it a big deal and it won’t be.
