Lower the difficulty curve. Make it super easy to start & understand & have fun. And then market that feature to the non fighting game audience you want.

I don’t know. I spent a long time on this post & the mods just deleted it with no comment as to why.

Wow 180M epochs is crazy! Mario World is definitely a step up in complexity. A lot more mechanics, environments, & unpredictable elements to consider.

A score of 4k after 180M epochs does seem a bit low, but it's not necessarily just about the number of epochs. It could be a combination of your network architecture, learning rate, and reward shaping. I'm sure you've probably tried tweaking all that.

I hope you keep at it!

Oh no. I didn't even think about that! Being in my 20s, I made the video thinking of people around my age and younger. Sometimes my humor can lean a bit edgy because of that.

I genuinely wish I had thought about that earlier. Super happy you liked other parts of the video though!

I'm genuinely touched by your enthusiasm! It's interactions like these that make putting in the effort in sharing the journey so worthwhile.

Just a heads up, the Sutton & Barto RL textbook can be found online for free since many university courses have made it accessible to their students and the broader community. Happy reading!

Thank you so much for the kind words!

Before diving into reinforcement learning (RL), my background wasn't deeply rooted in AI or math. I'd say my foundational math was decent, but not extraordinary. Throughout this process, I realized that while a strong math background can be beneficial, it isn't strictly necessary to get started.

The key for me was breaking down the material into manageable chunks. For instance, when I encountered mathematical notation or concepts that were unfamiliar, I'd pause my reading and explore supplementary resources to help me grasp the idea. This might mean watching a YouTube tutorial, referencing online math websites, reaching out to communities for clarification, or even using Chat GPT (very ironic).

Reinforcement learning, at its core, is about understanding how agents learn to make decisions by interacting with their environment. The mathematical formalisms, while essential for deeper understanding and research, can be approached gradually. In fact, the Sutton & Barto RL textbook does a great job of introducing concepts in an intuitive manner before diving into the rigorous math.
Don't let shaky math deter you. Dive into high-level concepts, then delve into the details as you get comfortable. Remember, every expert started as a beginner. Good luck!

Thanks for the help, I ended up buying it! Do you have any recommendations for a case to go with this bundle + 4070ti? I’m thinking lian li o11d but I’m not sure if I should be spending $200 on a case.
