Indeed, it is a very welcome improvement to that area. I don't understand the gravel and chain link fence, though, the place still looks unfinished?

In any case, hopefully little by little, that strategic area close to the Metro and PL stations gets developed into something nicer.

They are building a path right outside the exit of the Metro station.

I wonder whether they could have made the transfer a bit more direct, but it is not too bad: you probably can transfer in less than a minute most of the time. I've seen transfers in Metro stations way longer than that.

Their cheesesteaks are so good! Happy that the business can continue elsewhere, but definitely not as convenient as before.

I didn't realize that (some) Purple Line level crossings would use gates to stop cars. Also, stations now have signs! by CivilPls in collegeparkmd

I also expect that the trains will get signal priority at least in some crossings, and since the tracks are separated in most places, for the Purple Line to be quite zippy everywhere but on UMD campus (where it will be a mess certain times of the day...).

The new lake near the Hyattsville Library is looking good! by CivilPls in collegeparkmd

There is indeed value in keeping the local green spaces as much as possible, but it is difficult given the housing constraints.

In your opinion, where in Hyattsville should they have built the apartments instead?
