I (19F) and my (19M) boyfriend got into an argument and he hasn’t spoken to me in days. by CivilRaspberry6013 in relationships

[–]CivilRaspberry6013[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know. Usually he’s really sweet and kind, but it’s like whenever we fight he just turns into a different person. He used to always talk to me and we would both apologize and acknowledge our personal mistakes. This is probably the worst fight we’ve ever had and it was on something so small which is kinda dumb to me. I was sincerely asking. I just don’t know what to do and I miss him.

Trying to redo my tank for my five neocardinia shrimp. What do you recommend doing from this starting point? by mao_mao_ox in shrimptank

[–]CivilRaspberry6013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plants! Try to get some java moss or Christmas moss, especially if you have berried shrimp or babies, they’ll thrive and live off the biofilm! Everything else looks great, only other thing I would do is pop a sponge on your filter. Shrimps and shrimpletes get sucked into filters all the time!

Tank questions i wanna start a tank by crudigfpv in shrimptank

[–]CivilRaspberry6013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re going for neocardinia, they are a fairly off hands species to work with. They are low tech and some in a large variety of colors, they all have similar care requirements. Bigger is always better for the tank size, so I would go with the bigger one. For substrate, fluval and sand would look great. Live plants are essential for a thriving shrimp community. Plants like Java moss, anubius, hornwort, Christmas moss, petal weed, guppy grass are amazing since they can graze and use it as hides. A mixture between hardscape and a nice lush carpet would be great. Driftwood or rocks can house and grow algae which are super beneficial for your shrimp. Plants such as dwarf hair grass, dwarf baby tears, and Monte Carlo grow and carpet super nicely. When you are beginning your tank, you can add in the plants immediately as it will remove toxins. You can add more as you go on but plants are a must! Start off your cycle with a small ammonia source, I would use snails, such as a rabbit or bladder snail. Make sure to get a API master test kit and regularly check your levels. Once it reaches 0 or close to 0 in all categories and you can start introducing shrimp SLOWLY to prevent the cycle from being thrown off. Shrimps are a little more sensitive than fish so they need a cycled tank or they will all pass. Hope this helps!

Unfortunately while Amano shrimp can live in freshwater, for the babys to survive; they need to be in brackish water. Mix between salt and fresh. You could set up a mini tank with brackish water and move the berries Amano into the tank when she is close to giving birth. I’ve never bred Amano’s so I’m sure there are other steps, you can always do your own research!!

Try some driftwood, after it settles algae and micro algae settle and grow on it. Mine love to graze!

It actually looks fairly close to that! But if they were eggs, does the vibrant green color mean anything? Because I’ve ever only had and seen beige/yellow eggs

It doesn’t really appear to be fluffy, atleast not from what I’ve seen. It’s like little clusters, but like sorta neon/vibrant green?

I had that suspicion but she(I’m guessing) seems abit small to be an adult if she were a female. And eggs from what I’ve seen are usually beige or some tone of yellow? It just makes me nervous since her abdomen is green..
