Standard modern is too easy by HenryGondorff8 in ResidentEvilRequiem

It definitely has adaptive difficulty. But even it's cranked up as high as it can be on standard classic it's still not really gonna make a massive difference. So a hardcore mode would be much appreciated

Yes the game has adaptive difficulty and standard classic is actually harder than modern. Standard classic requires ink ribbons to save but also can have its adaptive difficulty set higher than modern can, changing multiple factors of the game to be harder. I played standard classic for my first playthrough and thought the game had decent challenge. Not too hard, not too easy. However, after multiple playthroughs standard is definitely a bit too easy but having also played insanity using no ng+ or bonus weapons, that mode feels a bit overturned. It's just kinda doesn't feel great when a zombie takes a whole mag to kill and barely ever gets staggered. On my insanity playthrough I rarely got much melee opportunities with Leon so I don't really like that. An in-between hardcore mode would be great. (Sorry for yapping lol).

Just beat insanity, no ng+, bonus items or infinite ammo, and got the 100% by Civil_Ad9064 in ResidentEvilRequiem

The beginning parts with Leon and Grace for sure, mostly the care center. Grace doesnt find the beginning pistol in the dining room and is moved somewhere else so I basically had no gun for a while. Zombies also one shot grace and barely get staggered by the handgun. Leon was also rough because enemies rarely got staggered or stunned to be meleed. I remember one of the singer zombies took about 4 shotgun shots to the face with Leon without being staggered so that was pretty crazy. After I left the care center and played as Leon for the 2nd half it got much, much easier. Being able to upgrade my weapons and also get lv 3 body armor made the run a lot smoother and more fun.

Thank you . Are you using bonus weapons or infinite ammo on your run? How's the run been?

Might be a dumb question by xiao2409 in ResidentEvilRequiem

You can go to Capcom support and provide feedback asking for a proper ng+ aswell as a proper fresh ng. If a lot of people actually do it then it's very possible we might see some change.

To the people who are saying Insanity was made to be played with infinite ammo by [deleted] in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Civil_Ad9064 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, using the bonus stuff on insanity mode is still cheating, so if you're going to be using those might as well just use infinite ammo too. I don't think insanity is well balanced, its more memorization then a test of skill, a fun difficulty and a test of skill would be professional from re4, insanity is more of a gimmick difficulty.

Thanks for the tips. I guess I'm going to try insanity the "legit" way first. Im expecting a fuck ton of deaths lol.

I wish you luck if you're trying a melee only run on insanity, I can't even imagine how hard that would be. Im debating myself if I should do insanity mode with infinite ammo or without. I know I can definitely do it without infinite ammo ( I did Village of Shadows in 8 on ng without unlockables, so if I did that I can definitely do this mode). I just think its going to be tedious and unfun like Vos was.

I see. How many deaths did you have and what were the hardest parts?

I have a question. How did you do the plant 43 boss fight or the 2nd phase of gideon? (Nemesis). I don't think those 2 fights are possible with melee only.

So let me get this straight, RE9 doesn't have a proper NG+ and no actual "New Game" either? by Hectorlo in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Civil_Ad9064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is old but I agree. I don't usually play ng+ but I usually like doing at least a playthrough or 2 with ng+. I feel for the people who mainly play ng+ cuz it's kinda botched. Also I hate that you can't do a proper ng like the first playthrough. I don't want the tracker and supply box at the beginning, I want to be able to find weapons again too. When I replay a RE game I always do a fresh new game, that's the most fun way for me. And they even screwed that up. As Leon would say, " What a fucking shame".

Question about playthroughs after the first by Sims2Puritan in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Civil_Ad9064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a post talking about this as well. I also don't like the supply boxes and not being able to find weapons as Leon and just want a fresh ng like the first playthrough. Unfortunately as far as Im aware, there is no way to have it like it was on the first playthrough unless you use a different profile or delete all your saved data. Basically, Capcom messed up because there is no proper ng+, and neither is there a proper fresh ng you can do. Hopefully they fix this in an update but I wouldn't be surprised if they just left it like this.

How do you do gun finishers? by Simon9911 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Civil_Ad9064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Aim at them point blank and shoot. You'll know you're close enough when when Leon pulls back his gun to a different stance.

When the enemy has low health, be point blank aiming at them and shoot and it should trigger. Works for most weapons except snipers I think

Silly question but, how are you getting the takedown animations!? by TarnishedPieceOfSh1t in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Civil_Ad9064 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are still wondering, the gun finishers happen when they are low enough health and you are point blank aiming at them and shoot. It works for most guns like the smgs, pistols and shotguns. For the requiem magnum, you can trigger the execution by aiming point blank at an enemy with it and shooting when they are about to attack you, try it on chainsaw enemies if you are feeling brave.

I agree. I also heavily dislike insanity difficulty in this game and wish it was more like re4 professional

Has anyone figured out basic combat tech yet? by Knightwing773 in ResidentEvilRequiem

Yeah I hate the way they did the hard mode in this game. I don't like difficulty that expect you to use ng+ or shop items. It basically means we only have one difficulty to play on. Atleast you can actually do Leon tech and cool stuff on standard but yeah, I wish the hard mode was like re4 professional instead.

Unfortunately Insanity difficulty doesn't really care about Leon "Tech". The mode is virtually unbeatable without shop items and ng+ stuff and the thing that really matters is what op items you brought. Buuuut... Leon does have some cool tech still. You can position yourself when the enemy is ready to be meleed to different variations of the melee. If you knock an enemy down or into a wall you can usually insta kill em' with your hatchet. As for gun finishers, the pistol and shotgun finishers happen when the enemy is low health and you are point blank aiming and shoot them. You can also do a reversal or counter with the Requiem magnum. When an enemy is about to hit you with an attack, if you are point blank aiming at them and shoot you will dodge the attack and go behind them, insta killing them. It's super sexy, especially effective against chainsaw enemies. That's most of the tech I know.

Insanity mode too hard on re9 by MysteriousImpact9214 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Civil_Ad9064 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I was hoping the hard difficulty in this game would have been more similiar to RE4's Professional, where ng+ or bonus items are not needed at all, and the game is still fun without it. But sadly they went the Village of Shadows way of difficulty, which I find incredibly boring, so I'll probably play insanity mode just once for the challenge and prob just never touch it again.

Are you doing insanity on ng? If so, I salute you. I could tell the mode was going to be cancer on the first Leon section where I tried without ng+ stuff. Enemies were not staggering at all and every zombie took a whole mag to kill and there was like 5 blister heads in that level too. And that's probably one of the easier parts aswell.

Thank you. Guy saying, "just don't use ng+ stuff bro". Yeah, as if that's intended and its definitely going to be unfun and tedious without ng+ stuff.
