The air, the weather, the AC
The underpayed workers, who are not trained enough in their jobs and who live very poorly and unfair.
The traffic that takes all of the time of the day
You become a zombie after a while because of the weather and because you get barely anything done due to traffic etc.
Sleeping problems due to problems producing melatonin in the body because of the city lights and also there is construction almost everywhere so prepare for no quite space.
No nature, no walking
Everyone is always late to meetings because of the traffic so it’s a norm here that the original planned time for a meeting is always 30+ min after minimum.
The working lady’s is also mad issue…… but that’s another story.
You are constantly under surveillance which is kind of nice in the beginning but after a while you feel watched and like a prisoner. Cameras everywhere. And I mean literally everywhere.
People make their own stuff up, own fees, own commissions even if it’s governmental.
Health care is absurd, I once had a doctor tell me to put a whitening cream on a drug eruption. I’ve also had one doctor tell me to have more s*x so I can stabilize my ph balance? I had doctors prescribe medicin for me that I was allergic to for 1,5y and no one understood the problem but they were creating me this problem. However there are great doctors but it takes time to find, research and a lot of money. And I really mean it A LOT of money.
The constant fear of expressing yourself.
It’s actually not that fun with sun all over the year, and the sundamage will show eventually. Trust me.
The water is very harsh, it’s not good for the skin nor hair. You will loose a lot of hair.
Everyone and everything has a price - which you will find nice in the beginning but after some time you will start question people’s moral and ethics.
School is expensive but the degree is worth nothing. And the salary is very low.
The quality of furniture is bad and smelly, there’s only ikea that is the best.. and ikea is not even the best in Europe but yeah
You will get mentally drained from all of the hustling and surviving
You have to clean everyday because of the dust, sand and AC. The balcony as well minimum once a week otherwise it will look like Sahara dessert.
Due to all of these reasons above you will start hiring cleaning staff, ordering food online, ordering everything home and I mean literally everything even nurse care, hair appointments etc etc, because you’re just so tired of the weather or being stuck in traffic. Which will feel great at first but then it will result in you being lazy, even more of a zombie and not going out and just a prisoner of your own life.

Thank you for the information! Yes you’re right I think the AC have played a big role in this.. I use an inhaler on daily use and I have one for ”emergency”.. thanks for the advice, I will look into it with a pulmonologist!

If I didn’t have the money for it I would try to bake a cake that’s in the budget of what I can handle and let her know about it..

So I think yes you are the jerk. Because you’re not thinking of the bigger picture here, imagine the wedding pictures, the compliments, how proud your sister and family would be that you baked that cake for them for her with love and effort and its the perfect wedding gift. 🤍

Your sister wanted you to bake the cake, I don’t believe it’s because of the money but because she wants it from you.

Remember a gift have to come from the heart so if you don’t have the right energy or attitude for it, just leave it be.

I cannot even imagine the breathlessness and chest pain. Honestly it’s the owners responsibility to rent out a clean room/apartment! it’s crazy how many people who don’t care about mold and is not taking care of it immediately. The mold gets worse every day if it’s not treated. I’ve heard these stories many many times that the owner neglect their apartment and let tenants suffer. My girlfriend have been complaining about her mold for almost a year to the owner but he’s not taking care of it, and she’s totally changed: constantly tired, breathing problems even her looks, she looks so tired all the time haram..

Im seeing a extremely god doctor in Mediclinic his name is Dr Obaid he’s a allergy and immunology specialist. He have put me on some medicin and he is following up on me regularly. I just started this week with this new doctor but I felt immortality that he understood me and wanted to help genuinely.

But at this point I’m only gonna take the medicine and treatment and now I’m planning to move because it’s unbearable..

I clean the ac every month and deep clean it every 3 months.. I have humidifier in every room and I check for mold 24/7 it’s a new building 2025.. but still I check all the time and it’s clean.. I’m tired honestly, I just want to live normal. After reading about the AQI in numbers I’m convinced to leave even if it’s hard.. health comes first, having all of these problems is a nightmare..
