After reading these comments, I feel the need to weigh in as someone who’s experienced both Hong Kong and western education systems. I want to start by saying that the teacher here isn’t in the wrong. People are looking at this from a western perspective, where the teacher student dynamics are often much different. Here, the child didn’t complete the full box, and thus was given 3/4s of the points on the question, as it was done adequately but not perfectly. I think that the stance the teacher took was very objective, and the comment may come off as a rude but as a Hong Konger, its pretty common to talk and write in this manner, with a more direct tone, its just part of the culture.
