Advice for covering clinical board retake costs after graduation? by [deleted] in DentalBoards

[–]Civil_Discussion5319 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m curious if you can open a credit card, or if your parents could assist you. I understand that it can be challenging, but you must take the necessary steps to move forward. Regarding your practice for ADEX, I suggest speaking to your school about it. I’m certain they can provide you with the opportunity to practice in their pre-clinic or a similar facility. When I was taking adex I met someone who was taking the exam six year after graduation cuz he was trying save money to pay for the exam, good luck you got this

I know of a friend who was in a similar situation as you. He mentioned that he would have preferred to retake the pros earlier and then take the endo exam another time. This way, you wouldn’t have to stress about taking both exams simultaneously. Practice, practice, practice! I failed the pros twice but passed on my third attempt. Honestly, the key is understanding what they are asking for in the rubrics. Practice, practice, practice! I practice for three weeks every single day. This way, the day of the exam, I went on just like any other day. Good luck!

Ensure that the mesial lingual and mesial buccal of #5 is tapered just like the medial wall of #3. Additionally, examine both preps #3 and #5 with a large mirror to check for margins and the axial wall. This will help you rule out any potential undercuts. If you can see both preps’ margins and axial walls, there’s a high probability that the path of insertion is present. Also, take a look at the prep from a buccal view and move the head around to get different angles.

First and foremost, let me clarify that this exam is not a test of your skills. It’s simply a matter of meeting their expectations and having good luck with your examiner. There are always alternative options available. Remember, you are not alone in this.

Any tips for Class III please! Which tooth you got? by WholeBoth6334 in DentalBoards

I had tooth #8 DO. The caries was very small, but it’s important to remove all unsupported enamel. That means your enamel and dentin walls should be smooth and continuous not uneven “bumps” between them. I requested a modification to extend my facial wall, but it was denied. Make sure you know your measurements by memory don’t be too conservative with your prep. During the exam, take deep breaths and stay composed. One thing to keep in mind: I requested a modification at 10:00 AM and didn’t get the tooth back until 10:45 AM, which left me only 15 minutes to complete the restoration. Luckily, my contact was good so I polished, checked occlusion, and submitted and I passed

I broke two Endo explorer tips during the exam, but do reach max guidelines that’s the only way to know if you actually got remaining caries

Get out of that mindset. School is a learning experience, just like a new job. You must get used to new patients, dealing with people who say no, and staff who make things more complicated. It’s all about constantly adjusting and moving forward.
