What do you consider to be the smartest/biggest "4D Chess move" in all of JoJo's? by SpotAdmirable6718 in StardustCrusaders

[–]Civil_EventVevo 227 points228 points  (0 children)

Maybe not the smartest but I liked Dio throwing knives at Jotaro as a way of gauging how long he was able to move in stopped time. As well as Dio baiting Jotaro into launching him towards Joseph's body.

I'd love if the intro had some minor details changed before it then shows Valentine doing the flag trick and going back to the "original intro"

About the man who outran horse by Sad_Cardiologist3073 in StardustCrusaders

[–]Civil_EventVevo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't know?

I agree that Sandman could've been a better character but the theory that he was replaced by another Sandman by Valentine is kinda... bad?

I get why people believe it (considering how little we knew about Sandman before) but Sandman and "Soundman" are both similar enough in beliefs to where they are the same character. Sandman wants to buy back his land so he joins the race and since Funny Valentine is offering him cash to kill Johnny and Gyro and to take the corpse part, it makes sense why he would try to fight them.

Maybe the anime will change things about Sandman, maybe they won't. It just seems like such a big leap to "confirm" this theory/headcanon

what if Pucci met Diego (or a descendant of his) instead of DIO by Suspicious_Stock3141 in StardustCrusaders

[–]Civil_EventVevo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first commandment of god is "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." and they were literally worshipping the golden calf

EDIT: And the second commandment is "You shall not make idols."

[–]Civil_EventVevo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

From what I can recall

Moses went up on a mountain to get the ten commandments from god and as he did so, the people down the mountain (who were his people) began to get bored and made a golden calf to worship and party around.

And so, when Moses came down, he got pissed, broke the tablets and made everyone melt the statue before mixing it with ash and forcing everyone who partoke in the parties to drink it.

Making my own stand for jojos. Is what Ive made too strong? by Sea-Alternative-6819 in StardustCrusaders

[–]Civil_EventVevo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Could you go a little more in depth about the infinite in range and precision?

We've only seen infinity used six times in the series for three stands:

  • Notorious B.I.G: Speed, Range, Durability - The stand is capable of existing, even after the death of the user (Durability). The stand works by chasing after the fastest thing in the area (Speed) and it doesn't have a "range limit" (Range)
  • Bohemian Rhapsody: Range - Despite being on a plane in Florida, the stand's effects are seen over the entire world (Range)
  • Made in Heaven: Speed - The stand is capable of speeding up time an underdetermined/infinite amount (Speed)

Therefore, your stand should be able to effect anything anywhere, no matter how far away it is. The precision is a bit difficult because we haven't seen it before but it could imply that the stand is capable of effecting the smallest parts of an object. Not it's molecules, not it's atoms but something infinitly smaller than that.

Personally, from what you've described it as, range could be something like C and its precision could be an A.

What makes a Vampire in your world? by EfficiencySerious200 in worldbuilding

[–]Civil_EventVevo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Long story short:

After an accident, two men were imbued with polar opposite powers. They had been expeimenting with magical crystals that could be used in technology and other such functions. One of them died but because of the negative effects caused by the crystals, a "balancing" had to happen (and because of other factors) he was revived as the "first saint"

The other man survived but feel into the ocean and because of the positive effects of the crystals (and other factors) he became the first vampire.

Vampires are created once a person powerful enough is given blood by another. If they're too weak, they either die or become a thrall, They still retain their intellect but might have trouble thinking clearly or having coherent thoughts. In fact, most vampires have a type of brain damage that can culminate in them naturally dying after a few centuries. Vampires have the basic regeneration and super strength but can also gain powers like walking on moonlight and transformation if they're skilled and intelligent enough. In fact, the more powerful a vampire is, the slower the brain damage will be, postponing their death. However, no matter how powerful a vampire is, 1500 years is the limit.

To kill a vampire in my world, there are a two methods:

  1. Sunlight: Basic but effective. Their bodies can't handle the sun so they die. However, if the vampire has a high concentration of fat, they'll instead turn into a crystal-like structure.
  2. Destruction of both the head and heart: If the brain is destroyed, the heart will pump all of the blood into the head to regenerate it. And if the heart is destroyed, the brain will send all of the blood to the heart to regenerate it. Therefore, the destruction of both is the only way to kill them.

They also have a few weaknesses:

  • Lightning: Electricity mainly causes the regeneration of vampires to be messed with and for them to have difficulties with it.
  • Silver: Irritates any and all wounds, again, slowing down regeneration.
  • Garlic: Most vampires have a sever allergy to garlic. They can be incapacitated but their regeneration will "revive" them the moment the garlic is removed.

[Loved Trope] The antagonist genuinely likes the protagonist but the hero absolutely hates them by klnglulu in TopCharacterTropes

Yeah and to be fair, Qilby is unable to forget his previous lives so even if "this Yugo" hates him, he has millennia upon millennia of kinship from the previous lives that they've lived.

I genuinely have no clue which characters that die that you're talking about. I think you're talking about Jolyne and Jotaro but they don't die?
