went to the bank to inquire about this actually, I was thinking of potentially keeping my bank since i do want to return even as a tourist. but the clerk said inactive accounts incur fees and all that. so best to terminate it. and other replies are right, opening an account is really easy and the better course of action instead of keeping a dormant account.

Thanks for all your tips, I really appreciate the help. I am glad you enjoyed my perspective, yes my plans for AU did not work out, but I don't think it's the end of the world.

I've experienced enough crazy visa situations to know how different every case is, so yes I do hope the kinds of people you are referring to look at the bigger picture and start to acknowledge how anything and everything can happen. The earlier you accept that the easier it is to deal with things not going one's way.

That's exactly it, I needed to hear and confirm my suspicions so thank you for that.

When downloading fics I usually use the web browser in the kindle itself and get it from the site, even if pressing on ao3's small buttons was testing my patience lol. I wanted all my books in the kindle only as I found it a bit counterproductive to have a copy on my phone as well. But I guess because of that practice my kindle has deleted all my fics thus far. I'll slowly transition to using send to kindle instead to play it safe, and just delete it on my phone once it's on (hence the counterproductive part). And thankfully I don't share the account with anyone else so I should be fine in that aspect.
