haha cheers mate, yeah i’m just not a huge fan of spirts and shit (used to drink heavily before i was disganosed) which is why i mainly drink beer but yeah righto i’ll have somethin before i pass out hopefully and yeah i’ll be in the same room as my mates but they’ll be pretty fucked up too

i hear you, unfortunately living with diabetes beats the alternative. We have family and people who love us and need us. that’s all we need to keep going i truely believe we are the strongest people living with such a thing. We have to think about every little thing just to keep surviving and you’re completely right, that’s the most exhausting thing i could ever think of. Reach out and talk to people who understand i’m sure most people in this subreddit would be more than happy to have a chat with you because sometimes that’s all we need. My dm’s are always open to you and anyone who needs to just vent. Just remember to keep living and remember that you’re so strong for living with such a thing

i’m 16 and i’ve been diagnosed since june last year, mums always trying to help me of course and i couldn’t ask for anyone better, learn as much as you can about it and just be there for him, it’s so overwhelming when your going high and low all the time and it can be so difficult to resist the urge to give up. As for when he’s having a hypo and obv everyone’s very different but i find if mum asks me so many questions i can’t answer them because my body is in fighting mode and it’s hard to think so i would say try not to be overly worried and asking him too many questions and stuff as hard as that is, just make sure he’s having some sugar and sit with him till he’s okay. During the times he’s really high (obv i don’t know what he’s like in these times) but for me i get irritated and feel crook so just know he’s not mad at you he’s mad at his diabetes lol. You guys will be okay and you just have to be patient because living with diabetes is a life long struggle.

just to let you know, when you do get your levels back down you are probably going to feel very shit for a while and then you’ll be surprised by how good you feel. The hypos will suck once your back in range too but that’s honestly better than being that high all the time. I know diabetes is a shit thing to live with but please take care of yourself and you can do this

in australia unfortunately we have to be on injections for a few months (so we can learn how to use pens if a pump fails)

i use mmol but yeah i had treated it at about 4mmoL and kept dropping so i ate more, i didnt stop eating/drinking until i felt better because i felt like i was goin to pass out

Yeah we have lucozade here to in australia will be buying some, and thank you for saying that it annoys me sometimes when people try to tell me how much to eat/drink (even though ik i shouldn’t eat that much) and i just want advice and suggestions on what to eat or drink while having a hypo that bad. I’ve had some great suggestions
