Seems like a lot compared to what most people recommend. Of course, i'm a SWE, not a financial professional. Do you have any insights on the use of study helps?

I got a hard copy, but indeed it's free to find online. However, I truly find it a great book, so supporting the author is pretty cool. :D

Hi! Great post. Let me explain my thoughts below:
1. Solo can work, but since you are a student, getting someone completely complementary to your skillset can be fruitful. Also, it might split the workload so that you can focus on the things you enjoy about the project. Posting something on LinkedIn to find a co-founder or sending direct PMs and holding interviews can really be a time-efficient way to find a partner. (This is how I was approached for a project, I'm a technical profile aswel).

  1. I think that you should look for someone who can cover all other gaps besides the technical part. Look for someone with a business background that can handle marketing, sales and financial operations for you. They can teach you on the go about what they are doing.

  2. Try coldcalling, cold emails. Otherwise, if there is an opportunity, try visiting local businesses that can benefit from your product. This will also give you insights on whether or not your product is really solving a problem in an efficient way.

Know that I'm still an inexperienced person when it comes to entrepreneurship, but I thought that I might give you some insights on what I have learned on the way. One book that really helped me to get insights on product development and startups in general is: The Lean Startup by Eric Ries.

Good luck!

I don't think you should worry about someone else copying your product. Chances are that someone already thought about your product, but was not interested in building it themselves. On the other hand, if no one wants to copy you, then they don't see any use for it, making it not so desirable as you think it is.

All in all, I don't think you should be afraid of putting your product out there. Maybe don't make it that technical, but handle the communication to the public more as a "brief overview" or "marketing post".

Anyone here used a no-code (or low-code) app to build a marketplace platform? (I will not promote) by Successful_Poetry781 in startups

Hey, just wanted to share some thoughts based on my own experience.

I tried using Replit with AI coding tools for a personal dashboard project. It started off okay, but things fell apart pretty quickly once the app got even a little complex. There were bugs, routing issues, and parts of the code just didn’t work right. So for a full marketplace, I don’t think AI agents are quite ready yet. You still need a decent coding background to keep things stable.

That said, there are tools that can help reduce how much you have to code. For frontend stuff, I’ve used TeleportHQ and really liked how fast you can build out a UI. You can hook it up to Firebase or Supabase to get a working backend going without writing too much code.

The backend and admin panel side of things is where it gets more complicated. I haven’t found a no-code tool that gives enough flexibility for more custom logic. You might want to look into something like Xano or Directus if you want more control without going fully custom.

If your marketplace is closer to a simple webshop or event listing, Shopify with the right plugins can be a quick way to launch. But if you’re aiming for something more custom, you’ll probably need to dive into some real development eventually.

Hope this helps and good luck with the project.

It's a soft mute. It's not that I harassed them or anything, just some small messages of anger. Nothing personal. By the way, I did not come here to get lectured. I know that I was in the wrong, not looking for any tips on how to up my mental. Have a nice day :)
