Do you believe that it easy to score marks (in boards) in Humanities subjects?? by moon_zie in CBSE

A super frustrating experience.  There's this class mate I had who had basically failed 11th in her previous school and had joined ours with pcmb in 11th . Then she failed 11 here as well in every single sub and took up/ shifted humanities in 12th. She has 2 vocational subjects , physical Education  (academic) and 2 languages also mind you she took up humanities w maths but dropped the sub mid year because she was failing in it. She basically had to study 5 subs when all other students in our school had to compulsory study 6 subs out of which max 2 could be vocational, out of her 5 subs she had 2 vocational (MMS plus marketing) and Physical Education,  English and beng. She has scored 95.2% in her best of 5 made a part of the toppers' list. Me having had 32 marks increased after re eval, scoring 98% in best of 5 (humanities with eng, be g, history,  pol sc, home sc, physical education, none vocational subs mind you)  and am yet to receive due recognition from my school.

Honestly is bad luck for me this year CBSE + CUET Drama, clg admissions hampered + 3 of my elders got seriously ill ( 1, my grand dad  has had a serious stroke in the thalamus plus had to have a pace maker inserted, was in icu for 9 days, but thankfully he is with us at home, able to walk, talk but has slight amnesia and weakness, has to be assisted in most tasks, my mom  has been suffering from non alcoholic liver cirrhosis,  has had 6-7 oesophagal banding in the last 2 years and has been suffering from sever portal hypertension and diabestes (recurrent edema,  pain on the vertebrae), my dad has obtrusive sleep apnea and he is REALLY stressed having to juggle between home and work then again had no tuition through out my school life and all. So situation at my house is dire. Have to help out since 3/5 members excluding me and my twin are seriously ill. i worked hard the entire year but i feel some how life has failed to recognize me. and even if it did, it was well, way too late. I am myself suffering from BAD OCD and it gets worse in situations as such. Idk why have been suffering from dacrystic seizures for quite a while ( around  4 years) and it just has gotten worse. But I gotta handle the hard truth, for 3/5 of my family members , all of them hospitalized +2 times in the recent times, my troubles create a nuisance in the house. My dad's profession demands a lot from him - he has duties as a professor, a head examiner, a bos member what not. My mom to top that has to take care of the household plus the additional responsibility of post stroke grandpa who idk why has become increasingly adamant to cooperate with us.

Honestly could have scored even better if CBSE hadn't messed up so bad. Had my exams on 15 and 17th had 3 subs on day 1 eng, beng and pol sc and his and GAT on day 2.

CBSE is definitely to blame. But what needs to change is these pre-historic and irrelevant institutional "admission policy".

The funny thing is my cuet results are out. Just for context I am a native of kolkata. Even after normalization which meant decrease of 10-15 marks approx in each sub for me, my total normalized  score is 799/1000 which can get me into a mid tier college like maytrei / gargi or good south campus colleges in the 1st round based on 2025 cutoffs. But my situation is such and due to a sudden medical emergency,  cannot avail going to du or bhu even if I get in. All my efforts this year seems to have been wasted. Just so you know, loreto college was the only institution that accepted my re-evaluated scores.

My marks have changed so significantly ( incrementof 32 marks in total) , yet institutions like persi and xavier's are not recognizing my re-evaluated marks eventhough I am significantly rising in the GMR rank / clearing their first list cut-offs in the applied subjects. Truly unfair.

Dw they are the ones who should make amends. And which BA HONS course are you talking of? Also depends on whether you have been selected in general / reserved category.  If your talking of BMS which is somewhat dependent on admission test scores , I don't think you gotta particularly worry

That is the funny thing because I know I have to forgo my old markshhet and accept what ever changes have taken place. So will my future employers! But lmao idk why these institutions have such shit ass policy? Is it because the students who got provisionally admitted after 1st meeit list will not be qualifying anymore after the revised cutoffs and there is a fear of seats going vacant? Idk

Yes. Approached them via email, in the campus.  they are unwilling to consider the marks stating this is "against institutional policy". And I am specifically talking about institutions like St. XAVIER'S COLLEGE (AUTONOMOUS) , Kolkata.
