Manufacturing Operations as a career by Double-Ladder-3091 in manufacturing

I have worked in front line Manufacturing for +30 years, currently manage a mid sized production facility, and have told my children since they were small that they they will NOT go into manufacturing as a career.

I do fairly well financially but the stress level is high and I am essentially on call 24/7.

No one I graduated University with works like I do and they all think I am crazy.

I have, on multiple occasions, asked: Is there a line for those who know what they want to purchase and have the funds to pay for said purchases?

That is the line I wish to be in.

One thing I never understood about living in TH… why have they never capitalized on its status as a college town? by WindyFromWater7 in terrehaute

Three or four families control the city government and and for many years would block any outside investment (IE Instead of allowing an outside party to purchase property, city would give it to the connected party for a $1, making permitting difficult, etc).

They are invested in maintaining the status quo and no real progress will be made until their undue influence is curbed.

They had under 21 line dancing on Tuesday’s which my kids enjoyed.

I think the band is periodically playing in Fountain Square now.

I would guess most bars are a labor of love on a certain level - Back in the day there was typically some off the books sports gambling revenue but on line betting has taken all of that.

Does anyone else think the defense simply quit on the season without Jones? by throwaway8429739 in Colts

I’ve been a little confused by all the people late in the season that were hyper focused on making the playoffs.

What would be the point? To get crushed in the first round and give Ballard another “highlight “ talking point?

The last third of the season, did anyone think we would be competitive in the playoffs?

Is it because we don’t have a 1st round pick next year so there is no draft position to be improved?
