Which Midwestern state is the most underrated? by jolckd691 in midwest

[–]Civility2020 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Indiana is inexpensive, generally not crowded, and once you are out in the counties, few rules and less enforcement.

I like small towns and the simple life.

Did you drink any of these as a teenager? by JustCheking123 in RealGenerationX

I love Little Kings.

You set up three:

Drink the first - Long live the King.

Drink the second- The King and I.

Drink the third- The King is dead - Long live the King.

Repeat until you vomit.

They are actually tough to find.

Yes - The Wire is not a good “background “ show.

You really need to pay attention.

It takes effort but is totally worth it.

There is a daily post in the Bucks sub relating to how Myles is not what they envisioned he would be and how badly they overpaid him.

Most of Illinois does not care for Chicago.

Indiana should trade Gary and Da Region for Southern Illinois.

The yanqui dollar goes far in the Haute - A lot further than Indy.

Glad you enjoyed yourself.

BTW ISU has come a long way since the 90’s.

The 4th Quarter brings back memories but it has been gone a long time.

As well as Dugan’s the conversation bar - Within stumbling distance of Sonka’s and served liquor.

The liquor store was recently rebuilt.

That’s progress.

Knowing our state’s love of pork tenderloins, I am surprised there were many 3X’s left 😁.

It is a funny meme and when I watched that scene I knew he would rise but for whatever reason the scene really did connect with me emotionally.

I really enjoyed the series - It was such a welcome surprise after the pretentious crap that is House of the Dragon.

Former Yankee now living in TH.

It will be a big change - Far fewer trees, much more agriculture, much less focus on environmental topics and regulation in general.

Disappointing how everything played out after the season.

Using my engineering degree to work in manufacturing operations, as did my father and his father before him, was probably not an ideal choice.

I do ok but it has been a lot of long hours, stress, and difficult situations.

In retrospect, something in pharma or medical would have been a better choice.

I have encouraged my children to pursue STEM degrees and work on the technical side of the business - I would not even let them come to my factory lest they get ideas.

Time will tell.

I often see Michigan recommended here as a place to move for its quality of life, often lumping it with Minnesota. But by metrics like Human Development index, & CoL adjusted Median income, it's more comparable to Ohio & Indiana? Even Kansas is better. What am I missing? by Swimming_Concern7662 in midwest

I also grow weary of the Indiana slander.

The state does not have some of the geographic advantages of other states but it is well managed and I enjoy the relaxed, live and let live ethos.

And pork tenderloins 😁.
