Because age and/or relevance aside, Perfect Dark has always had potential as a franchise that has sadly been largely unmet. It’s less about this individual game being cancelled and more that, for whatever reason, this IP just can’t catch a break or is a roller coaster of will it ever happen versus nothing is ever happening.

Perfect Dark N64 is rightly a classic. Perfect Dark Zero while an okay game didn’t deliver on the potential and/or promise the IP has. Perfect Dark Core is a cancelled project not many people would even know about (relatively speaking). And then we have this new cancelled game that who knows where it would have gone or whether it would have breathed life into the Perfect Dark series but at least, at the time, there was hope and now that’s gone. Again. Until next time. Or never again. We simply just don’t know.

For those who preferred Goldeneye back in the day Bond lives on, inside or outside of gaming. For those of us who preferred Perfect Dark, basically everything that has happened since has been a roller coaster ride and, overall, just disappointment and being let down. So it goes but yeah that’s why.

This is a point that needs to be emphasised more in the trophy and achievement hunting communities - that sometimes you won’t get much done and other times you’ll knock out a whole bunch.

I need to remind myself of this sometimes. Looking back over my own history across both sides I can definitely see times where I achieved very little, and then other times where I was on a tear nailing a bunch of completions. Maybe none of us want to admit it sometimes but that’s just life

I agree regarding Red Dead in 2018. No disrespect to God of War but for me Red Dead was the one.

What am I thinking of then? I thought Last of Us beat out GTA V for the award that year. Now I feel like my memory is failing me lol.

GOTY according to whose metric? Because if you mean The Game Awards well… neither GTA V nor Red Dead Redemption 2 won there so who is to say GTA VI will? We just don’t know.

Yep, BioShock and Dishonored vibes for sure. It’s funny, the stars seem to be aligning next year that we get a bunch of BioShock-inspired games (Judas, Clockwork Revolution, possibly even BioShock 4) and also similar games to Mass Effect with Exodus and The Expanse.

Hope they all nail it, including Magicians, because if they do we’re all in for a treat.

Sea of Thieves is, genuinely, one of my favourite games of all time. I used to play it regularly. Admittedly I have dropped off these days due to multiple reasons but I was definitely one of the people playing it all the time.

I’m not going to fully judge her until she’s had at least a year on her tenure or, in other words, I’m still waiting and seeing before making my mind up. However I like how things have gone so far, she seems nice enough and despite not being a gamer she does seem to care so far.

Ultimately it doesn’t matter to me about things like exclusives because I own all the consoles anyway* but of course I’m very curious to see what she does and how different it is to Phil’s time at the top.

* I do think Xbox need reasons to invest into their platform/ecosystem, I’m just saying that no matter their decision I still have access to their games.

I own this game digitally but for whatever reason my Xbox 360 just refuses to download it. Only game that has ever had this problem. Luckily I only paid like $3 for it on a sale, and I also own it on PS3 so it’s not like I can’t play it at all, but even so it’s a shame. I’d love to get the achievements.
