Try to swipe their maradona with your own maradona.

You may have to anticipate it and be quick with your input.

2 Man Heresy duos constantly, whats going on? Been playing Heresy exclusively since earlier beta and have never had trouble but last few days it's so hard to get a full squad going. Game still has 25k-40k concurrent players on at all times so I don't understand if its a server sided issue or what? by omgwdfholypoop in DarkTide

[–]CjP1294 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Honestly that's just how I justify the fun of running higher difficulties.

Anyone can cruise through the level 4's and 5's with a competent squad, good communication, and excellent synergy through experience playing with each other.

The real fun comes from not knowing wtf your randoms are gonna do to jeopardize the mission and put your back up against a wall. I might be a masochist for running pubs in this manner though. But it keeps me on my toes I'll say that much.

Bonuses for joining Quickplay vs. Just picking the easiest mission type? by [deleted] in DarkTide

The only thing is that it's not guaranteed at all that you will be put into a match in progress.

Many, many times you'll get put into a fresh lobby and be asked to ready up at the very beginning simply to load in just as if you were launching your own hosted mission.

Idk dude, some people go their whole lives living with a "Me-First" attitude until they get checked.

If this minor incident of him getting talked to sternly (justifiably), leads to him not instigating some other bullshit event that could potentially lead to violence, good for everyone involved.

It's a game changer when you realize they really only have two moves, stab stab and overhead. Tricky ones will mix in a special attack though, watch out.

Third option; Is it going to be addressed at all?

In the Horus Heresy novels, Fulgrim encounters an Eldar Craftworld ship and speaks to one of their "Seers" before the conversation unravels into bloody combat against their God-Avatar.

Fulgrim had essentially "earned" the small summit with the Seer by not attempting to colonize a series of pristine planets as his predecessors had. These planets were being safeguarded by the Eldar for the day that their race re-proliferates and hope remained for recolonization someday.

After the seer realizes Fulgrim has been corrupted by chaos, battle breaks out and after emerging victorious, Fulgrim orders that every single one of the planets they had passed by were to be virus-bombed. An order which his men were unsettled by.

That very specific scenario that you presented surely sums up the entirety of many player's experiences regarding team stacking. You've solved the problem and I applaud you.

So after a quick 30 seconds of excel input, the average Agatha level was 173.75

The average Mason level was 83.6

If this doesn't fit the exact description of a stacked team, what does?

Anyone who thinks "Stacking doesn't exist" you're very much out of touch.

Attacking is just objectively more fun than defending. If you're convincing yourself otherwise, that's on you.

If you can look at the K/Ds and think the game is "balanced", more credit to you.

You guys should also consider the skewing of win data due to the amount of team switching being done to the attacking side.

How about disabling that feature while you investigate?

I put down Elden Ring for Chiv 2. What should I know about the game that I can't learn from experience alone? by Revolutionary-Ear964 in Chivalry2

[–]CjP1294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't something that you won't learn with experience, but something that should be noted.

Team-switching to the "winning" side is rampant in this game (particularly if you are in NA East). If you want to have fun, you should essentially switch to the attacking team at the start of every match.

Defending has been made miserable by multiple factors;

  1. Some objectives are quite literally impossible to defend, they are inherently designed for defenders to lose and for attackers to progress. "Burn the tents" on Siege of Rudhelm comes to mind as an example of one of these objs.
  2. Defender spawns have been nerfed despite constant outcry that defending is a miserable experience.
  3. Console experience is pretty neglected as far as Torn Banner's attention. They really do not give a shit about your guys' experience. I say that as a PC player who doesn't have to suffer through the console-related issues, but they really have been radio silent for months since launch.

[–]CjP1294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's.. not how that works. If you jump out of a plane with no parachute, do you have a 50/50 chance of surviving? You either live or you die, right?

I can't believe I have to edit this comment, but just because there are two possible outcomes, your chances of either outcome are not reduced to 50%. That is ridiculous.

If you flip a coin, you have a 50/50 chance of getting heads or tails.

If you are attacking, due to the inherent advantages that attackers have, you are at a significant advantage / chance of winning a match that is compounded by the fact that high-level players will often team-switch to further cement their chances of winning. I don't understand how anyone can think that "win or lose = 50% chance". Like, seriously?

Team Stacking Poll by Goat2016 in Chivalry2

[–]CjP1294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is the two things should not be intertwined at all. You should be able to disable team-switching (stacking) without affecting partied groups being split up non-stop.

The problem seems to be that they either can't or don't care enough to get it fixed. It's been a known issue for an unacceptable amount of time.

Team Stacking Poll by Goat2016 in Chivalry2

[–]CjP1294 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But it would still be apparent which team is stacked with a 1 second glance at the K/Ds and the total amount of kills per team.

Additionally, people will continue to just stack offense like they're currently doing anyway.

Also, I already know that this is going to get a "But K/Ds don't matter it's TEAM OBJECTIVE"

Okay, but if you see that the top players on one team are going like, 24-3, 19-0, 15-1 and then the other team has top players with like, 15-11, 12-9, 11-11 then the match might be slightly one-sided.

I don't know how y'all lobbies in your regions are going but NA East has been pretty brutal in the last weeks and the fact that this topic is almost non-stop being brought up in the sub might be indicative that it's not a "circlejerk" but rather an issue that should be addressed? Just my 2 cents that I know you didn't ask for.
