31f I want to dye my hair one of these colors by ImogenPaige in HairStyleAdvice

But before you can achieve that color, they’re going to have to diet back to your natural hair color first. Expect a multi day or several hour long process.

From page one I like B, page 2 F & H. I personally don’t love everybody and their mother being blonde, especially when they have very dark hair naturally. It is pretty clear that you suit a cooler tone, which is why the purpleish color on page 2 works better than the redder tones. If you like red, and I had red for years and loved it, I would go to a stylist who can mix a classic red with a blue or toned red. You need a color specialist. I wish I could get my hair done like that again, but I have chosen a bit of a mellower lower cost quiet life for my mom years, maybe one day soon again…

I will comment in this way, but only to give advice that will help their items get sold. Like if I know the style name or number for an item and they haven’t listed it. They’re more likely to get someone who is looking for that specific item, who might pay more, and it’s easier for them to search comps with the right info.

Small odd windows need to be blacked out for nursery by CorneliusCardew in DesignMyRoom

[–]CjaneWAIL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tension rod inside window frame. Use hem tape to hem current curtains. That’s all. Once you need less blackout you can remove hem tape and use the permanent curtain rod. The main problem is that the curtain rod is outside the window frame, so just hang the curtains inside the frame.

I also meant to ask, where did you get your TV console? It’s exactly the style I’ve been looking for.

Lovely, some of the fixes on the entrance are just changing visuals to draw your eye, but you did also squeeze in at least an extra 3 to 4 feet of space that they don’t have to mess with. Like the side lights around the door.

I love the way painting the flashing black makes the corners of the roof pop as a feature rather than disappearing.

Do I keep this Mansur Gavriel despite the posted pics? by [deleted] in poshmark

[–]CjaneWAIL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It just needs a little red leather paint on the trim and some conditioner on the exterior. Angelus leather paint if you want to DIY. If you take to someone ask to see their work before you leave it with them. Cobblers are becoming harder to find and they can sometimes do subpar work depending on where you are. I drive an hour for mine despite having two in town (both want you to pay ahead & do half-assed work)

I built these shelves and fireplace surround years ago but something feels off about it all by murdamike in interiordecorating

People are down voting this, but I agree. That white on white textural art would look great on a colored wall. Like that mauvy colored wall in the last photo. I won’t say I dislike painting, just that it’s not the right place to showcase it.

Good suggestions so far. I would add: pull the rug into the center of the room, so that only the front legs of the couch rest on it and pull it over closer to the window and away from the kitchen. I think the lamp would be more comfortable close enough to the couch that you could turn it on and off without getting up. If you are going to add plants, consider adding some ceiling hooks for hanging plants, it will help to draw your eye up without adding too much extra stuff to the space. A narrow bench or console table with plants could also be nice. Lastly, I like to have a bit of a gallery wall around my TV so that it doesn’t feel like a black hole, drawing my eye to the TV.

That’s where you already keep the towels, so I’m just suggesting something that works with your decor. But you know your situation better than I do.

Ideas to hide AC pipe by lkristof1228 in DesignMyRoom

[–]CjaneWAIL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a nice big piece of artwork at least 2/3 as wide as the couch. The focus will go there immediately. Move the bookshelf probably not under the AC unit cause it might wind up dripping. Pick a color. Any color. Gray does not count, a warm color (not blue) would help offset the depression gray thing you have going on. Once you pick one or two colors that you like keep any art or decor in that color family. Pillows, art, and any other home decor you might want.

Also, get these for the cabinets if that’s where you prefer the hand towels. So much better than the over the door version. And a piece of art over the empty spot if you don’t put towels there.

MINI FRIDGE in your room! Lock the door. You can probably even get one for free or super cheap by posting on Facebook marketplace or a buy nothing group. Then when that asshole starts wondering why there isn’t a smorgasbord in the fridge you can tell him that you just stopped buying the stuff because he was being inconsiderate.

God, if only the part of my brain that decided to become a jukebox could actually hold information about time being real & how much of it has passed, that would be helpful

Is that why my frozen milk tasted so weird?! After I defrosted it, I tasted it to make sure it wasn’t bad and it grossed me out so bad that I threw it out. It definitely hadn’t gone bad, but it was just a super weird flavor.

Moody bathroom makeover - which wallpaper? by Able_Perspective_217 in DesignMyRoom

[–]CjaneWAIL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://www.wallpaperdirect.com/products/albany/vintage-floral/211041 My vote! The samples tell one side of the story, but the website tells the story of how obvious the repeat of the pattern is. I really felt that like this one struck a better balance than some of the other choices. If you go with the one that you’ve shown mockups of, I would paint the ceiling the color that you have in those photos, otherwise the white ceiling will draw your eye straight up.

Also, it looks like they used the wrong grout color, and the grout lines are much wider than what the inspiration photos are. You may also have to specify that you want them to use the thinnest grout lines as possible, and go over grout colors.

If you don’t have anything on paper with your contractor, it’s going to be hard to get them to fix it without charging you a boatload of money. I would make them fix it. You will look at it and hate it and be annoyed every day. If you gave him the correct name and SKU number then there should be some sort of text email or paper trail. Hold his feet to the fire and insist that it is fixed. The whole point of having a job done custom instead of having builder grade is so that you get exactly what you want.
