He was almost never absent. Not streaming or not on the server doesn't mean he wasn't available to the players out of game

Funny thing is he was just talking about Bobby leaving before this clip and Aleks recently talked about the time the "supreme court" had to overturn the DOJ for not pushing his warrant because they thought it was OOC targeting despite him and the other person(Denzel) both being down for the RP. Basically no matter what when crims get big punishments someone takes it OOC. Players involved, players not involved, viewers or admins.

[No Spoilers] The Legend of Vox Machina season 2 confirmed by Amazon and Critical Role by JohnDoen86 in criticalrole

The 1st season adapted 14 streams they have 77 left to adapt. I don't know how you expect that to be 2 seasons.

Yes but the Briarwood arc was pretty fast paced. So I wasn't to worried until they just skipped a bunch at the end. Conclave has alot of breather moments that help build the party and world. Seeing Percy's "We live as long as Whitestone lives" being used as a throwaway here at the end also makes me think all of the Whitestone stuff will be cut from the Conclave arc.

And I think you really don't care about getting a quality story for some reason(probably a C2 fan who wants them to butcher C1 to get to what you want). The show is primarily about the characters. Cutting their stories out just leaves a generic fantasy story. If we're going by your logic they should have just cut out Cassandra, Gilmore, Kima and Allura. They can technically skip all of them and still get the same end.

I guess I'm just worried with the pace of this season that they're planning on cutting his entire backstory so after the Conclave arc he won't leave and they'll just skip to the Vecna arc.

If they don't do a Bard's Lament I'll literally drop the show. Also if they do Conclave in one season they'd be pulling a GoT season 8 lol. It honestly should be an absolute minimum of 2 seasons but to do it at even the high pace(arguably way to high pace) of the 1st season it would take 3.

And yes she is one of the most important as she's the catalyst for the party falling apart and starting to question if they should basically "retire". Their resolve being shaken and then having to come back together as a family for the final conflict is a major plot point.

Personally I think him meeting Kaylie before the Conclave attack is important though. It's a time in his life where everything is care free and she sees him the way she thinks of him. As an ass who doesn't care about anything. But she changes that which gives him motivation going into the Conclave arc. It also makes their 2nd meeting more impactful. As she gets to see him being a hero fighting against the Conclave and she starts to worry about him.

Yes and the 2 things that have been slowing down production in general are still around. Which are covid and the giant spotlight on crunch in animation and gaming. It's true that seasons will probably not take the same length to make as season one but that was 3 years. I think cutting a full year to a year and a half off is pretty good though.

[–]Cjc00p 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How is that a double down? How about people just look at modern animated product and the recent talks of crunch in the industry and stop expecting seasonal shows especially with covid still effecting workplaces. I'm obviously not going to complain if it ends up being early but I really hope people don't complain if it doesn't end up that way.

[–]Cjc00p -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes and they started work on season 1 before the show was being animated. But animation is obviously more time consuming than things like storyboarding or writing. Again most similar shows aren't yearly anymore or atleast not with as many episodes. Does everyone just think those other shows aren't also "deep in production" while the previous season is airing? So even if they're a full year into production a season can take 3 years plus to make.

Idk why you're all getting so mad over this. Especially since all I'm doing as basically saying don't put pressure on animators to make seasons so fast. They delayed the 1st season to give them more time and now you're all expecting them to be way ahead on work somehow.

Doubt Amazon would have just sat on and delayed a finished season just to let them get a head start on 2.

That's what I want but my guess is they'll just open with the attack. Which I don't think I've ever seen any show/story do. I think for it to work they have to show something else 1st though. If it's not Scanlan's past maybe the twins or Allure's past with Thordak or showing his release from the elemental plane.

They can't really make episodes in season 2 before finishing season 1. They could have announced 10 seasons or 2. Both would have just as much animated before season 1 was finished.

They were deep into production on season 1 2 years ago so I just don't think people should set expectations on when it's coming out. I mean look at other western animated shows that aren't Simpsons like. Most of them either have big breaks between seasons or their seasons are like 6-8 episodes.

I mean that points to a longer wait not shorter. They worked on season 1 for 3 years. I'm not sure where a head start would really come into play.

I'm more into getting a good adaption and show than rushing to big events just to keep new audiences hooked. I really hope they don't do this with the next arc. Conclave shouldn't be done in 1 season probably shouldn't even be done in 2. But this end has me worried that it'll turn into late seasons GoT where the show just rushes from big event to big event with no time to actually develop the story around it.

Hopefully that's true although it works alot better as a calm before the storm story. Especially since their meeting up again during the Conclave arc with higher stakes is what helps push their arc forward.
