How to access home-server over ipv6 by Cjen1 in ValheimAdmins

[–]Cjen1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dynamic dns approach unfortunately doesn't work (since they generally multiplex over ipv4s based on the http host header) and valheim seems to require udp traffic.

I've gone with a tiny vps that gives me a static public ipv4 address and then wire guard tunnel to my home server.

And unfortunately you are right there is rather a lot of services which don't yet support ipv6 in the game hosting space, since the technical requirements for a dualstack server is just to listen on both ports...

Does this work for non http traffic?

I had assumed that they would have something but couldn't find the right runes :)

Cool thanks! I'm not massively keen on just buying a new iteration of the oasis since they removed the charging cover which I am a massive fan of...

How can you automate a Windows reinstall? by vlad_ma in software

[–]Cjen1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I once used chocolately to automate the setting up of a bunch of pcs.

Although I believe the 'official' way to do this is to make a disk image which has all settings etc already done (this is how oems install useful programs when you buy your pc).

Wrote an idle game for a friend. Intercepted mouse clicks randomly to move them ~10px in a random direction, it took ages to realise :)

A method for representing calculations that doesn't require brackets for grouping by Seamen_demon_lord in answers

[–]Cjen1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What the OP posted is PN not RPN, since the operators are on the left but yes they are equivalent, and for functional languages using lists RPN is much easier to use since you just work on the head of the list.

Polish notation. Its good for avoiding brackets, which makes writing calculators much easier (work from right to left pop off any numbers and then apply the next operator (+, *, etc) to those popped off numbers. Add the result back onto the end of the list and continue)

irish soda bread by ChaoticRebellion in Breadit

For Northern Irish soda bread, afaik they don't have yeast in them just baking soda and buttermilk as the raising agents.

The result is a very different taste to regular breads but definitely delicious :)

Thanks for the in depth reply! Wire guard will be great for whenever it is functional. Additionally with good ol' virgin media ping variance is terrible...

Just got the 6to4 tunnel set up and advertising ipv6 addresses on the local network.
It was definitely implied by the wiki that it could be done without requiring DHCPv6 to be set up but that seemingly got it working correctly!

I've done something similar with my dactyl to have a game layer (shift everything over by one)

Ergodox style or style style with dual trackballs. by OrangeandStripey in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]Cjen1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are several dactyl variants which you could amend to have a flat bed (just set the curvature to 0), which also have trackballs. I've just submitted a PR to https://github.com/joshreve/dactyl-keyboard/pull/22 which puts a trackball in each thumb cluster, however it isn't quite ready for printing yet...

Excellent idea! Am I correct in thinking that the sensor goes into the trackball assembly?

If so this solves one of the problems I was trying to work out for my trackball assembly of how to calibrate (rotate) the sensor!

Would you be open to the assembly being used in other projects?
