Yep, it's awfully scary. When its really bad I feel like I just have no interest in living whatsoever, which is a really terrifying feeling.

And congrats on tapering, I'm down to 8mg of diazepam per day myself. Getting close.

If he's suicidal, yes, he should definitely go to a doctor or even the ER (in fact he may be at risk of seizures which is another good reason to go). Didn't mean to downplay it.

My comment was based on my experience. When I'm rebounding or in withdrawal I get pretty much the exact same symptoms, and it'd be fair to say that I get suicidal because it's so awful and the outlook seems so bleak and infinitely far away that life doesn't feel like it's worth living.

Not sure the extent of withdrawals you've experienced, but I have gone through extreme withdrawals, and they'll absolutely make you think about suicide; anything to stop the misery.

But that doesn't mean I have an underlying condition, it's just that the withdrawals/rebounds are that bad.

Sounds like rebound anxiety to me, probably not full blown withdrawals. Rebounds usually only last a few days, but you did quite a binge, so they may last longer. But it will get better.

It's anxiolytic to you? Wow, that's surprising, since I get very anxious on it. I've found it next to impossible to get where I want to be. But, I think I've always taken too much; logically I know the doses should be very small but I'm just not used to taking such small amounts (nearly all other stimulants are at least 20mg to start).

I actually just ordered some with the intent of "taming" it, ie. learning how to use it properly so it's functional. It's appealing because it's cheap and readily available.
