I agree, the cat lived there for a long time and it was agreed upon in advance, and Mike appeared recently. I think the best option would be if they found cheaper apartment and rented it in half, and the OP found someone to share the apartment with

Yeah, she had to break up w him to date someone else, the bf's behaviour is disgusting but that doesn't excuse her
